Sent Passport through DHL

Hi Guys,

I need some help here; how long does it take for the embassy in Lagos to receive documents from DHL?

They requested we submit our passport through DHL on the 9th of February and we submitted it at DHL on the 10th and they informed us that the embassy has received it since the 11th of February.

Up until today, the embassy said that they have not received it yet. I suspect the passport is there but not yet entered into the system as being received.

Please can you comment on your experience with sending documents to the embassy and how long it takes to show up? The passport is not yet trackable on the web site.

Check the CEAC when was the last time it was updated? Did you drop your passport at DHL the GSS document collection center?

It was dropped off at the GSS collection center; they confirmed that it was delivered on the 11th (the very next day), but the embassy wrote today to indicate that they do not yet have it. I am wondering whether it takes that much time for them to process mails from DHL.

I suspect the passport is at the embassy but has not yet made it to the individual file and into the computer system.

Rest assured that it is at the embassy and it will be processed soon. from what I have read it takes an average of 7-14 days to process. Good luck!

Please take note that it may be returned to you by DHL, the GSS center likes for documents to be dropped off in person. My husband and I just experience this same situation in Lagos.

Hi Prophetessyw, the embassy asked us to drop it off at the GSS center; I think they will return it if they have not asked for it and you attempt to submit it. They requested for it themselves. Although I still cannot track the passport online, the visa status has changed to "NonImmigrant Visa Application" and "Ready".

Pls can anyone throw more light on how many working days it takes the embassy to issue the visa after the passport submission
