So our petition was received by the embassy early last week and I emailed them for an update a few days ago and got the following;

Dear Sir,

The visa case file for (Fiancés' Name) has been received at Embassy Kabul; however, your case is currently pending an appointment. We will be in contact with your fiancé to schedule an appointment and to give information on how to prepare for the interview. Your patience is appreciated on this matter.

When do you think my fiancé will receive word from the embassy in regards to when the interview will be?

Your fiancé will probably get the Intructions package in about 15 days, but after the copies of the documents they're asking for are mailed to them, you guys will have to be patient, in our case it took 3 months until i got my interview. And a big mistake i did was calling to their Call Center, so if you have any doubt just email them, no matter how long they take to respond, never call ! :)

Good Luck!

Paula, I believe from what I heard, well at least with my country, they provide the beneficiary with the interview date and all the forms needed to bring all at once, the days of having to return forms and then receive a interview are starting to disappear if I am not mistaken.
