I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I was hoping to post in the Nigeria portal but didn't see an option to do that. At any rate, I just wanted to post an update to our interview & AP experience. My husband was called about a week after his initial interview and placement into AP on 1/28 and asked to bring in his passport. He was given the option to send it via DHL but he didn't. He took it to Lagos. When he arrived, a guard told him that he could not enter the embassy that he would have to leave his passport there and they would make sure it got to the correct person. The number that the person from the embassy used was on my husband's caller ID so he took a chance and called the number back and miraculously got through to someone. The woman he spoke to, called the entry gate and my husband was allowed to go back into the embassy and drop his passport with her. The next day, his status changed from "Administrative Processing" to "Issued". I wasn't sure if it was real so watched the status everyday until he actually picked up the passport and had visa in hand about a week later. We were able to find a decent flight from Lagos on 2/13/2016. He arrived in the US on 2/14/2016. For anyone processing through Lagos, keep the faith. It seems as if the AP is something they are taking everyone through. I think denials (for the most part) come on the spot unless they find something egregious in your background. If you know for sure your petition is legit and background is ok, then don't worry the visa will come.

Good luck to anyone still waiting!

Congratulations to you and your hubby! For those of us who are still going through the process, can you provide a summary of what the interview was like? Also, was there a specific reason you were under AP? Thanks!

Hi Blessing,

I posted a recap of the interview in the Nigerian Consulate Reviews...but overall according to him, the interview was brief and fairly pleasant. He said the CO was nice and accommodating while he was looking for information etc..in his folders. She gave him the opportunity to clarify answers and elaborate on things she didn't understand. I believe we went into AP because of how we met, Facebook, but not sure as it was never stated why.

Congratulations. This is great.

And it does seem Nigeria is trying a new thing with this AP for approved cases.

Oh FYI, because you have your Nigerian flag up it falls in the Nigerian Portal so all can see from Nigeria.
