Please let me know if there is somewhere that explains things more clearly...

We received an email/letter from NVC this morning (assuming this is our Case Closed)

Now I am reading what my husband in India should do to prepare for the interview...

One of the things is to get a physical BUT the instructions for the physical say to bring his interview letter with him.

So which is it, do we make the appointment online after the physical like it says (here) or do we need the interview letter first like it says (here)

Any advice with this GREATLY appreciated!

Best wishes~

*******

This is the text of the letter received this morning:

*******

17FEB16
Dear Sir/Madam,
The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa
case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a
consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.
NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General
tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a firstin, first-
out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested
documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.
When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney
(if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview
requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.
The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following
three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:
than one year ago; and
The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until
the embassy has issued a visa.
Sincerely,
Director
National Visa Center

Make the appointment for the interview, then schedule the physical. Your physical exam has to take place before you for the appointment at the embassy. So for example schedule your embassy interview 2 weeks from today, and schedule the physical for tomorrow. In Mumbai we were able to schedule our own appointments. Contact the Delhi embassy and request the appointment, they are slow moving so they need to be reminded of things.

@NMKhalsa, You have to wait until you are scheduled and than you can go do you bio-metrics at the VAC and your medical.

Is there a link or a list somewhere so we can get things ready before the interview?

I'm nervous, working full-time with 2 children and no family nearby, I'm nervous that anything we miss can delay us.

I know we need to print the ds260 confirmation and have that at the fingerprinting and interview

I am thinking about what documents my husband will need at the interview. I think there is a list somewhere, I hope.

So many things that have been created by people posting here have helped so much!

Log in to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in to schedule bio-metric appointment fingerprint and photo collection at the Offsite Facilitation Center (OFC)

Look at your embassy information go to NVC and check your embassy specific information. There shouldn't be really anything but what you want to bring to the interview. You submitted everything through NVC so you just bring the originals and re evidence from filing to interview.

Congrats on your case close. Now be patient..

Hopefully within a couple of months, both you and your hubby should receive another email from NVC indicating the date and time of his interview. It’s called Packet 4. He should print the PDF in that email. After that:

1. He creates an account with ustraveldocs and selects a date for his biometrics in Delhi. Print a copy. (he gets to select a language he prefers to be interviewed in, ie hindi, punjabi, or english). If in Delhi, get biometrics done few days before interview, but has the option to do so day before interview if in a different state).

2. He schedules an appointment for his physical, at Max Hospital either at Mohali or Delhi. Schedule a date 2-3 weeks before interview.

So strange that we did not get informed about our case being closed. We got an email (letter) with the interview date and time in Delhi. The letter listed all the things we will need for the interview. Medical and biometrics were done shortly after we got the interview date which is March 17.

I hope you get your interview date very soon.

Anyone know what's the status on Ninja&Bunny after their denial? I followed their vj in the other vj thread.
