UAE is a waiver country, you can not get a police certificate from them except in person. The embassy knows this and waivers the police certificate. See:

As Greenbaum stated - can't get one, except in person, so the embassy waivers that requirement for UAE.

Hi! I worked in UAE also and I went home few months before my interview. They never ask for a "Police Clearance" during the interview. Don't even bother mentioning about it if they don't ask.

**************

Please find below link that I found and have it handy with me just in case I will be ask to provide a Abu Dhabi Police Clearance.

**********************************************************************************

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.
http://travel.state....l?cid=9666#docs
Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.
