documents for the interview

We are awaiting for NVC to complete the case.

Our concern is that my wife's translated documents all are out of dated now.

(In Sri Lanka all the documents should be translated and get certified by the foreign ministry and valid only 6 months from the date of certification)

To get a new translated copy of her divorce certificate is a long procedure that took more than 3 months last time.

At the interview, do they expect newly translated and certified documents?

Do both the originals and the English translations get needed to certified by the foreign ministry?

Should the Police Clearance Certificate also must get certified by the ministry?

What will happen, if she will not get her Divorce Certificate by the date of interview?

Thanks in advance.

hello

I had my documents translated on 2014, I've submitted photocopies of every translated documents to the NVC and my interview was on last month. When they asked for documents I gave them original certified documents.

So your wife should be ok with previously certified documents.

Police clearance certificate doesn't need to be certified. If it's closer to the expiration date(6 months validity) make sure you bring the new one to the interview(Don't renew it just apply for a new clearance report)

If she is missing documents they will issue 221(g) and then you have to submit that documents when it's available.

**

Make sure she bring IRS transcripts of the recent tax year with her even if you send them to the NVC.

Good Luck.
