Alright so I checked Ceac website today and it said the processing site was Santo Domingo it changed from NVC to Santo Domingo.

Now my question is how long after it reaches the Consul in Santo Domingo and status is changed on the ceac website does it take to get the visa interview? Should I not even bother to request expedited since it's already in the country where the interview will be?? Helpppp

I assume IR-1 or CR-1 visa chasing.

Typically, NVC sets the appointment, and sends out a packet 4 email containing the interview appointment letter along with instructions.

If NVC not set the appointment, then typically an expedite was granted by the Embassy via a request started by you or the petitioner at NVC.

So, what's up ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You are absolutely right lol Cr-1 visa.. and yess I was wondering how long afterr the case reaches the Santo Domingo embassy will it take to get an interview.. No I didn't request an expedite nor nothing in that case I was wondering IF it was worth requesting one at this point now thatthe case has already reached the D.R Consul...

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well, if it is anything like the K-1 process (for the DR), the embassy will set the interview and then send the letter with the interview date ... If not like the K-1 process, the NVC will set the date. What i did was call the NVC every other day or two to see if an interview date was set, they will let you know before any letters are received.

i thought NVC set the appointment for D/R for a CR-1 visa, if there was NVC doc intake and fee payment.

OP - did you EVER receive any email from NVC? Might want to check yer spam folder in your email, soonish.

ok - some phone sleuthing?

when next you call into NVC - ask -

1. what date was my case complete?

2. do you or do you not set appointments for CR-1 or IR-1 visas for D/R?

3. What is the current process for getting an appointment interview assigned at D/R IV Unit?

report back, when able :D

Alright guys sorry soo late response lol. Ssoooo my status said Ready.. The processing site was Santo Domingo I made my ustraveldocs profile.. My friend told me to make my own appointment and don't wait for NVC or Santo Domingo... So I called NVC and they told me C.C was Jan 7th and they will NOT schedule the interview for me that my case was sent yo D.R.. So I called Santo Domingo and they told me to wait for the letter... I got tired of waiting and went along and made my own appointment... both for VAC AND INTERVIEW... I recieved the conformation email and the NEXT day I sent the appointment I recieved an email from Santo Domingo stating to proceed with my case I needed to schedule both my appointments... So if I would have NEVER DONE the appointmets I would probably stillll be waiting !!!

C.C was Jan.

They did NOT set appointment for D.R... I did it on my OWN !!! D.R didnt either..

Once my case was in D.R I could have made my interview... when yu check processing site and it says santo domingo...
