I-130 for Disabled Father?

I am thinking about bringing my parents over to the US. The thing is, my mom is fine and she'd love to work here but my father is in a wheelchair.

I meet the income requirements to sponsor them, I could also easily get a joint sponsor.

My question is whether my dad could be denied a visa based on the fact he is disabled? Does the USCIS discriminate against people like that? Anyone with similar experience?

you will have to prove he will have US health insurance. If they think he will become a public charge he will be denied. He is not allowed to come here and go on any type of government assistance like medicare or medicaid

1. You do not have to prove he will have health insurance. Actually, nobody in the US is required to have health insurance. They just may have to pay a certain tax if they don't have it.

2. Nothing prohibits a permanent resident from going on Medicaid or Medicare if they qualify.

I'd assume the fact that I'm filing an Affidavit of Support for him automatically means he will not become public charge because the responsibility for him falls on me.

I'm pretty sure other people have sponsored parents with disabilities and they've been able to come over with no problems.

I can't see how the government would discriminate based on disability.

They don't discriminate based on a disability, but based on the totality of the circumstances.

There are plenty of people who come to the US with a qualifying sponsor, then end up being a public charge. It's rare that the I-864 is enforced once you are in the US. If you can show you can support your father, then there shouldn't be any issues.
