NOA2 Received - Now What?

Technically I know that it's NOA2 to NVC, NVC to Embassy, Embassy to Interview, Interview to Visa... BUT

What can I proactively start doing or DO? For example, I read some places to call NVC after 10 business days to get a case number. What does that number do? Can I start scheduling an interview with that?

My fiancee already got her police records, should I start filling out a I-134 Affidavit of Support? Should she fill out an DS-160? Do we have to wait for her to get some package?

Hey there! our case have been forwarded to our embassy, but we ran into a few problems with NVC (they entered the wrong birthday for my fiance even though we filled it out correctly on all of our forms ) so we still haven't gotten our case number. The lady I talked to said we would get a notification from the embassy with our case number on it so we're waiting on that Definitely start calling NVC to at least see if they have received it. I've seen a lot of people say once you have your case number, you are able to set up an interview (a lot of people don't even receive the letter) and start preparing for it! You can start gathering the requirements now and it will be easier for you later on. She also needs birth certificate, proof that she is allowed to legally marry, and more evidence about your relationship, a letter of intent to marry from petitioner (more recent date than the one previously turned in).

So I need the NVC case number so she can do the DS-160 and after she does the DS-160 she can schedule an interview?

When you call the NVC ask for two things, Case number and Invoice ID number. Schedule and do the medical. Prepare fresh I-134 and all financial evidence for the interview. Prepare any other evidence you might want to present at the interview (ie you visited each other recently since the application, new photos together, etc).

She should do DS 160 but she will need the Invoice ID number and the case number for that.

Check whether the US embassy/consulate in france requires any packet 3 documents to be submitted prior to the interview.
