Bio metrics inquiry - Would Infopass appointment help?

Hey guys,

My wife, who is the applicant had a lot of trouble with her fingerprints when we applied for the conditional green card. She was called twice for the biometrics appointment and even then the fingerprints weren't readable by the FBI. The IO informed us of this at the interview, we had to submit police reports and then the green card was approved.

This time around she only went once for the bio metrics, however I am worried that the fingerprints aren't readable again and USCIS will sit on this for another 2-3 months until the processing date for VSC changes on the status page for April 2015 filers and we can finally inquire about it.

Would they be able to tell us any information on this through an info pass appointment? When we call them they basically tell us the same info as what's available on the website.

May I ask why they weren't readable? I have my biometrics on Friday.

She has very light finger prints along with natural lines that distort the prints. Nothing we have done or can do about it, that's just how they are. You can do a google search for "finger prints rejected" some other people have had the same situation. I doubt it is very common though.

I doubt infopass will be of any help to you. You have to understand her file is in line to be looked at (along with a significant amount of others waiting). Ideally you would be able to go to infopass and have them pull it up (look at it) and check if the prints were usable or not. This isnt going to happen though. Infopass has the same information as the phone center and online- thats it. No one there is going to look into her file or open it and review it. Only an adjudicator can do that and it will not be done just because you are there in person. You will have to wait until the adjudicator gets to it. When they do if the prints are no good they will advise you.

Even sending in a service request when its available to you may not get you looked at (reviewed if the prints are good or not). A service request generally just pings the file and they verify its in line to be worked on.
