hi

not true. the affidavit of support is in case your father uses means tested benefits and the government goes against your father to repay what they are owed.

this usually doesn't happen, but anyway. the government would go get the debt from you first as the sponsor, if you don't have the money, then it would go against your cousin the joint sponsor

so your cousin can be the joint sponsor if he or she qualifies

Submitting affidavit of support has nothing to do with a bank loan.

11/14/16... I-130 packet for my parents sent via UPS to Phoenix

11/15/16... I-130 packet received (Priority Date)

11/18/16... Checks cashed, received emails and text messages at 5:22pm, cases routed to Texas Service Center

02/22/17... NOA2 for Mom received (Notice Date 02/15/17)

02/28/17... NOA2 for Dad received (Notice Date 02/17/17)

03/01/17... Status online shows application sent to NVC 

03/17/17... Received emails from NVC for next steps!

03/21/17... Went online to Choose an Agent

03/28/17... Received emails from NVC confirming Agent selection and to proceed with the next step (paying fees!)

04/05/17... Paid the $120 Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee online today (Also eligible to pay the $325 Fee but will wait before doing so...)

April-August... Took a break from the process in order to move back from USVI to mainland USA.

08/07/17... Paid the IV Fees for both my parents ($325 each) today

08/23/17... Called NVC because payment still showing "In Process", was advised to email proof of payment to have them manually correct it

08/24/17... CEAC website shows "Paid" and can now have parents' DS-260 forms filled in.

Hi everyone

its been a while, i have bad news my cousin backed out for the aos but i have a friend who volunteered. I submit all of the documents last december of 2016 then received a ltter that missing docs need to submit again so i submit it last january and they received it first week of february, now i follow up my paper still reviewing... its been more than 8 weeks...

My case is complete, my father has already scheduled for interview on May 4th. I just need to submit the corrected joint affidavit of support of my friend cause there is a correction from her income of 2015 that my dad need to bring it on his interview. Thank God. Now the real waiting game is his medical too... i am nervous...

No it is not true.  The reasoning behind it is as such:

 

The government does not report to any private company the names of those who sign the affidavit of support. So, the mortgage lender should not have any idea that the co-sponsor signed any affidavit of support unless the co-signor discloses that information to the lender. If the co-signor discloses the information to the lender, the lender may or may not consider the information in making its decision as to whether to lend.

Hi guys

it's been a while... 

my dad's case got delayed... due to medical concern... he got delayed because of abnormalities with his xray result so he went through sputum test and waited for the culture result for 2 months... now his done with it and finished his medical exam with flying colors... yeheey... now i scheduled him already for his interview... waiting game is almost done... hopefully we will not encounter a problem during interview...

Hi guys!

my dads case is already done, interview passed yesterday and now waiting for his visa to be deliver. I need help where should i book my dad where i can get a cheap ticket from manila to LAX?
