Good evening everyone,

I'm still a newbie at visajourney but just so you know I read up here a lot to get an idea of what to expect and you guys are excellent with sharing your advice, experiences and recommendations.

Therefore, I come to you for help since I don't really know where else to ask. (Thank you MUCH in advance)

So to reiterate a bit of background info on where I currently stand, filed an i130 for my husband. Currently, I'm waiting for NRC to send back my case file to USCIS for them to appropriately forward it this time to the NVC since they delayed me 2 months by mistakenly sending it the first time to the National Records Center. E mail stated it could be up to 2 months :( Dont know how long it actually takes?

I miss my husband dearly and I think Im actually going through a phase of depression now but anyways to keep my sanity I want to leave MI for the time being and do everything from abroad. He's in Jordan so I'll be going there and staying with him until all of the immigration things are done.

Seeing as I dont even have a case number yet, what do you guys think? Would it be wise to leave and do everything from international and would I be able to? i.e. pay AOS fee, IV fee, Visa Application

I already submitted photocopies of all the documents and wedding pictures when I first applied and submitted the i130 app. I also just recently at my interview in Detroit Imm Office on Dec. 1st turned in my husband police clearance form and more bona fide documents (lease, ,marriage certificate, marriage license, plane tickets) as well as his biographic page of his passport.

The only thing that I believe would still be requested to be turned in is the Affidavit of Support, which my brother will turn in for me as he will be the one sponsoring my husband as well as we'd be living with him to start off. Or is there anything else I might be missing? Do I need an AOS for myself even though I been unemployed for the past year?

Choosing an agent would be submitted online, or am I mistaken?
Please help and guide me with your advice because I have no experience in this whatsoever.

I'm sorry if this is confusing and long.

I just dont want to be apart from hubby anymore and if I can and will be able to do all this online, that'll be great. Please guys.

Thank you guys!

You can pay all the fees and do everything from abroad. You'll get your case number and IIN as a letter in the mail or you can call NVC and get them over the phone.

You're gonna have to send in all the financial and supporting documents to NVC as part of that process. Financial documents are the i-864s, IRS transcripts, letters from employer etc. Supporting documents are the beneficiary's police cert, birth cert, any divorce papers etc. You need to send these to NVC as part of the package they require.

It doesn't matter that you have a joint sponsor, you as the petitioner still need to fill out an i-864.

First off, thank you for your reply! i so appreciate it.

Even though all copies are in my case file already, since it was rerouted to NRC , just in case something is missing,

I plan on leaving copies of:

-Marriage Certificate w/eng translation

-Marriage License w/eng translation

-Hubbys birth certificate w/eng translation

-Hubbys police clearance form w/eng translation

-Hubbys Passport Bio page

-My birth Certificate w/eng translation

-IRS Tax Transcripts for myself for 2014, 2013, 2012 (Didn’t file for 2015 since I am unemployed)- read that one would have to submit a letter as to why they didn’t file taxes for most recent year (2015); is there a specific outline for this or a simple “Didn’t file because didn’t work in 2015” would be sufficient with a signature?

**For the Affidavit of Support, I plan to filll out i864 and sign it before I leave so that my brother can go ahead and submit it for me once it is requsted. Would this be ok, u think?

We will be staying with my brother and his wife when my husband first arrives, so I understand that he (my brother/joint sponsor) needs to fill out an i864a since we would be in the same household?

**Choice of Agent, is this done online?

Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

And thanks again :)

Yeah, we also played it safe and re-sent copies of marriage cert etc to NVC. Better safe than sorry. :)

With regards to your i-864, they may or may not accept it due to the date you'd have to put on the form. You date it when you sign it, so if you sign it now but don't send it in for another couple of months, they may not accept that. Once you're ready to send in your package, can't you sign the i-864 and send it to your brother via UPS? That's how we did it. If you choose their express letter option, it's delivered within 36 hours, so you won't loose that much time getting your signed i-864 to your brother.

Your brother would fill out an i-864. So you both do your own i-864.

Yes, choice of agent is done online, so is all the fee payments and your husband does his DS-260 online too.

First off, I noticed on your timeline, that visa was issued today, so BIG CONGRATS!!! U must be relieved! All the best :)

Secondly, thanks so much for your responses. I will prep. the necessary photocopies; (most definitely better safe than sorry) i'll do the i864 for myself and UPS it to my bro like u said; just seems easier and less of a hassle then it being outdated.

For my brother, i assume i would have him do an i864a since we would be in the same household? I may need to write up a letter stating and clarifying that we live in the same household with driver license photocopies of mine and his to prove same residence, and since he is an immediate relative thus filing the i864a instead of regular i864.

On another note, quick q, did you turn in tax transcripts only or u made copies of all tax return packets to send out to nvc?

Thanks and Congrats, again! on issuance of visa :)
