Hi everyone! My case is this, I am 25 years old and a housewife in the Philippines, I am a US Citizen who has been living in the Philippines my whole life, I became a US citizen when I was 16, I haven't really worked since then and only came to the US for 2 months at a time, I am now filling to petition my husband and 2 kids (they don't qualify for automatic citizenship with CRBA because I didn't stay there for 1 year continuously). The 1-864 asks for the income tax for the past 3 years, given that I have been a stay at home mom for the past 4 years, I didn't file taxes in the US. I want to file for their visas so bad but I'm worried that I'll have problems with the income tax section of the I-864. What can I do? Thank you for the replies..

You can get a co-sponsor, someone who lives in the US and is either a citizen or green card holder

you will need a joint sponsor, as long as you have a joint sponsor that can cover your family, it's fine

Yes you need to get a co- sponsor. Another thing that you need to be concerned about is establising your US domicile seeing as you've never stayed in the US for more than 2 months at a time.

Some things to think about. First, you have a family of 4. That would be a hefty financial requirement. Does your husband and you have a large savings? As assets can be used to meet the requirement. Does he have a skill that can get him work in the US. They will want to know why you want to live in the US now as you have never seemed to want to before, and as you know, you would have to go with him. You may have to fly back to the states and open bank accounts, Get mail at a US address (relatives?), Check about schools for your children, register to vote, etc.

As others have said, a joint sponsor can take care of the monetary portion of the I-864.

With your domicile, you will be looking at intent to establish. Basically, you'll want to think about steps one generally takes when one moves somewhere else, and then do those things and collect evidence that you've done them. The I-864 instructions has a bit of information on this, and you'll find some examples in the NVC Process wiki here. (Scroll down a bit, to the letter.)
