Using USPS money order

Hi all!

My AOS package is Almost complete ( Hubby dearest needs to re file the affidavit of support as we have of 2015 taxes), and we got the money order ( we did 1 of $985 and 1 of $85 )

My question is;

I have to put an address, do I put the one where we send the petition? My SO doesn't remember what he did when he sent the previous money order for the I-129f.

Also, except for the pay to and the address, is there anything else we need to write down on the MO? I don't if anything on the I-485 form instructions, but I just want to make sure!

Any reason why you don't want to use a check? I don't see any benefits of using a money order and if it gets lost, then you will have trouble getting your money back.

Any reason why you don't want to use a check? I don't see any benefits of using a money order and if it gets lost, then you will have trouble getting your money back.

It was just easier for us right now to go and get money order than wait for the check to be cashed. Plus, Hubby swore he saw personal checks were not allowed ( oops) ! After a discussion we might just do one more step, cash the money order and do a check.

The AOS takes about six month and if a day or two makes a difference, then you can use the money order. But like I said, there're really no benefits of using a money order. Also, you will not have a record of a cashed money order.

I just got off the phone with a USCIS person and I was just told she doesn't even know if I have to put an address or no. (20 minutes wait for a 2 minutes conversation, yay!)
