Not surprised you would be the one to call stats "tired".

Stats aren't "pesky" unless you're a racist yourself and only want to see ways in which whites have hurt blacks, not ways in which blacks have hurt themselves. White people aren't responsible for 70% of black kids born out of wedlock, for example.

First I'd like you to answer the following with yes/no:

1) Different races in the US tend to have different sub-cultures; native americans have a variation on culture different than hispanics, different than blacks, different than whites, etc.

2) If Yes to 1), do these cultural differences influence behavior in tangible ways? e.g. customs, religious practices, food preferences, music preferences,

3) If Yes to 2), would these tangible behavioral discrepancies be likely to influence both objectively positive behavior (e.g. helping an old woman shovel her driveway) and also negative behavior (e.g. mug the woman instead)

Well, I personally had no role in it. But let's say I feel motivated to see it bettered anyway, what am I supposed to do exactly? A number of coworkers and I actually recently joined in a city mentorship program with a city school. The level of interest from the students was downright pathetic. Every one of us gave up. The kids simply do not care about their education whatsoever.

You and I may not have had a role in creating the problem, but it will take an investment from every taxpayer to fix and it will take time to break down the racial barriers that exist. The heart of the problem stems from poor education and lack of work which in turn causes economic problems and then leads to the violence. There also has to be a return to family values and morals within the black community, there are far too many fatherless children with no role models. I am also a firm believer that anyone, black or white who is receiving gov't benefits should have to perform some sort of task to earn the money they get. This will help instill a sense of self pride into people and will help get them off of the assistance they depend on to live. Any fix to the problem will take just as long if not longer than it took for the problem to get as bad as it is. There is no quick fix, nor do I claim to have all of the answers, but laying the entire problem and the cure all on the shoulders of just the black people will not help in fixing anything, it will only cause more friction and further problems.

the questions are loaded and not meant for simple yes/no answers. but since you're making such specific demands.

Great! If you are unwilling to say a person's racial identity can influence their behavior in any way at all I hope you can stop calling white people racist when you don't agree with them.

Of course that is silly anyway. Racial identity does influence behavior as everybody knows.

i didn't call any white person racist for not agreeing with me. i called any person who interprets the fbi stats as.. black people are predisposed to violence ... racist. is that you? you never answered when i asked outright, not really fair to accuse me of calling you a nasty name when you've never come out with the goods?

basically, you're saying all black people behave similarly because they are black. this is a false premise. it would make blaming inner city violence on black people so much easier if what you perceive as 'racial' culture could be correctly appropriated along racial lines. what you're actually doing, is taking popular culture and attempting to pigeonhole it to one race (which IS silly!) while simultaneously attributing very specific/localized gang culture to an entire race, nationally (also silly!)
