Missed Oath Ceremony. What to do next?

We just got back from a vacation and saw the letter for the oath ceremony. The ceremony was was yesterday! Not good.

What should we do next?

On the letter it says if we cannot come to this ceremony, to return the notice and explain why you cannot attend. Should we mail it back?

Is there a faster way to notify them our reason for not being able to attend and to get a new ceremony date?

The mailing back the notice thing is for BEFORE you are scheduled...

I'd go there tomorrow (well Tuesday as tomorrow is a federal holiday) and explain the situation, so that they do not think you abandoned the naturalisation process. Bring the letter, envelope (with post mark) and proof you were away since before it was sent.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I tried to make an infopass appointment but nothing is available. Would walking in be okay? Whenever we have gone they've always asked to see our appointment letter.
