We've been in a holding pattern on our RFE since before Christmas. Received one on 12/8/15 claiming that AsianDating.com was an IMB (I won't even get into the fact that, like many other well-known dating sites, the IMB claim is silly) and asking for the signed consent form by my fiancee. Instead, I sent in a letter stating we had no such release and that the site was not an IMB. I also supplied a printout of the website's Terms of Service with the relevant parts highlighted stating it's not an IMB, as well as an e-mail from AsianDating's customer service explicitly explaining that they are not an IMB and providing a detailed explanation of why they don't meet the IMB description.

RFE response received on 12/21/15, and no word since then. Given that this seemed like such a routine RFE, we're both going kind of nuts as we watch everyone else who was an October filer move on. And now, even, similar RFEs getting processed.

Any insight into what might be causing the delay, or anyone else at CSC with a similar type of RFE who has had a long wait? We're trying to be patient, but as with misery, anxiety loves company.

Well did you give them the letter they wanted or did you just sent what you thought would be fine?

You might re-read my post; no such letter exists. Do a search on here of IMB RFE and you'll find that it's become common practice for USCIS to issue an RFE for someone who met on a dating site, asking for IMB releases. The standard material to submit in a response (unless the site really is an IMB) is the dating site's Terms of Service and/or a letter explaining from their customer service department verifying that they're not an IMB.

AsianDating.com is not unlike a FilipinaCupid site or a Match.com site--it's a well-known dating site that doesn't meet any of the designations of an International Marriage Broker.

I'm aware of all that. I'm just saying you didn't provide them what they asked you to provide.

If they just wanted proof they would have written that in the RFE.

Maybe they just wanted a letter from the USC stating he did not meet you at through a IMB.

You asked and I'm just saying that maybe you didn't provide them with the stuff they wanted.

I am the U.S. citizen, and I did include that material in the letter, so I hope it's not just some sort of bizarre "this isn't what we asked for" response. That doesn't seem to be how USCIS has responded to other such cases where the same sort of evidence was provided.

No, but its been a month which seems like a long time compared to other with RFE's. But I do hope you get your approval soon.
