Hello,

I am a US citizen who has been married to a Japanese national for 12 years.

We lived in Japan together for our first 11 years of marriage.

My wife got her green card in 2014 and we've been in the US for a year and a few months.

Sadly, things just aren't working out the way we hoped and my wife wants a divorce.

I am her sponsor on the 1-864 and I don't plan on revoking or altering my responsibilities.

However, I am planning on moving back to Japan where I was happy.

I'll be moving back next month to start a new job.

My wife will stay in the US on her green card.

Strange, I know, but this is how or lives are working out...

Questions:

Do I need to file a I-865 (change of address) when moving overseas?

I would send this to the USCIS - Nebraska Service Center?

My wife will need to do the AR-11 when she moves, is that correct?

Anything else I should be concerned about?

Thank you!!!

Yes, that sounds correct.

Not sure about the address, because the webpage for the form, confusingly, only lists what address to file to for various states and territories, and one for "anywhere else in the United States". But abroad is not any of those. I guess the "anywhere else in the United States" (Nebraska center) is the closest choice.

The address change can also be done online. But I don't know if the online form will work if you're not giving a state on the online form.
