UK-Meeting Financial Req's-From Confident to Nervous

Hi everyone,

I haven't worked since mid-2014 when I was laid off. At that time, I became a full-time end-of-life caregiver for a family member.

Before being laid off, I amassed savings.

In cash, we will have approximately 11x the minimum income needed and I felt confident about meeting the financial requirement for my fiance.

My family member passed away late last year. I have been applying and going on interviews. No job yet however.

I'm feeling nervous. It may just be the stress of caregiving these past years, or just a pessimistic attitude. But my confidence is ebbing away.

I don't have anyone to cosponsor. Can anyone ease my mind?
Think we'll be okay?

I know nothing can be guaranteed but...opinions and insight matter so thanks in advance for weighing in.

Easing your mind....:)

You will be fine. Super fine even. London is not harsh on this. Fill in the asset portion of the I-134. Provide financial statements to show the cash assets you have. If in several places, make a summary spreadsheet showing name of institution and balance as of [date]. Pick an end of month date for all. Then provide a total. That just gives them something to look at quickly without getting out a calculator and adding up the balances. Photocopies printouts of online statements are fine.

Thanks, Dohan. :)

I really appreciate your response.

You know when you want something so badly, the very thought of losing it just undoes you?

I think the recent death, the stress of job-hunting, the worry around submitting all the paperwork correctly is just taking its toll and I'm stressing needlessly.

Thanks again for responding.

Thanks, Nich-Nick :)

Being "super fine" would be lovely to feel :) I'll get there. Just a bundle of nerves right now so your response helped.

The idea of a spreadsheet is ace--will do!
