New passport 2 weeks before interview

Hi all,

I have ordered a new passport as I was concerned that the condition of my old passport could possibly delay my visa!

My old passport number and details are on ALL of the paperwork up to this point!

I already have my interview scheduled for Feb 24th and wondered if I need to update my passport number with the US embassy ahead of time to avoid delays?

no, just bring your previous passport with you, just in case. My husband had the same thing and it went fine

Completed DS-160 and paid visa fee: 02/20/2015

Interview: 03/13/2015 APPROVED :)--> Same day went into AP

07.09.2015- NOA1 for EAD/AP

07.24.2015- RFE :ranting:

08.13.2015- USCIS accepted RFE response

09.08.2015- EAD received

Waiting for the interview :clock:

12.19.2015 WE GOT THE GREEN CARD IN THE MAIL!!!!! No interview :)

ROC

10.25.2017 ROC packet received by VT Service Center

11.02.2017- Received NOA dated 10.26.2017

11.29.17- Completed Biometrics

Waiting for the interview :clock:

Nope..just go with both passport. My old passport was almost expiring when i had my interview but CO rescheduled my date when I showed up, to allow me to get a new passport.

Don't mess your paperwork..

Bring both of the passports to the interview, and explain the circumstances. Quite likely not the first, nor the last, time the CO has seen this situation.

More than a handful of people I have personally seen report in this UK forum had no problem, nor needed their old passport in London. Some offered their old passport and said they were looked at like "why would I want that?" and told not needed.

I don't expect you will have any issues.
