How long is it normal to wait till I get a case number?

It has been a month since noa2 hard copy for my k1 visa and NVC say it's not in their system yet!is it normal to wait this long without getting a case number?what should I do? ?

NVC generally advises that you have to wait up to 45 days for them to process the case number. What does it say when you type in your receipt number? Does it say it has been sent to NVC?

When it reaches 45 days and if you then still don't have a case#, you can email nvcresearch@state.gov as well as nvcinquiry@state.gov provide them the following:

Petition number (Receipt number)

Petitioner's name and date of birth

Beneficiary name and date of bith

and explain that the case# still has not been allocated.

I sincerely hope you have your case number soon, keep calling them every week.

When I check my status online at uscis it only says that the petition was approved on jan 6th

That means that for some reason it was not mailed to the NVC yet. Call USCIS and ask for a tier 2 officer and ask them why it has not been mailed to the NVC.

Doubt it, probably just USCIS being lazy, they tend to be that way. Don't panic until you speak with them, it's their job to know where the file is and to mail it so you can complain while you're at it

you can call the nvc hotline and they will tell you if it's received I also got my case number by calling and a week later got a letter from nvc with case number . Call every week or 2

Call NVC every couple of days until they tell you they have received it. Don't worry about what the USCIS website says. Sometimes they never update it to say that it was sent to NVC. It took 9 days for NVC to receive my case from the California service center. I just noticed you are filing for a K-1 visa so I can't help you too much, but the time for it to arrive at the NVC should be about the same.

Still nothing from NVC but we got another noa2 in the mail yesterday saying my case was Approved in February 26!!!!!!what does this mean?the older noa2 said it was approved in jan 6!can anybody tell me what that means?
