curious how many k1 denials were then married and approved

I hear a lot of people say that you need to find out why the k1 was denied and address the issues before filing an I-30.But that is very difficult to do. Some times you get no reason except CO was not convinced of a bona-fide relationship and no reason given why the CO feels that way. In our case we front loaded, had lots of evidence from a long relationship, face to face time, interview went well and the CO didn't seem to harp on any particular thing during the interview. So, how many of you have had the same experience and then filed a spousal visa and were approved?

I have yet to meet and know of a K1 denied and later married. All have been approved. Stats I don;t have just my own personal experience. And that is roughly about 50 couples that I know all but 5 were interviewed in Lagos. Hope that helps.

Unless there is misrep, fraud, illegal activity found during the duration getting married was all that was order. Cuz well some people pick the wrong Visa type to come here and getting married shows you are serious and you also have that much more time together. Cuz the couple had to at least see each other one more time to get married.

I know of a few couples denied and they got married within the week before the petitioner came back filled the I-130 and they all are here in US with their spouse.

We filed a K-1, originally. Our paperwork said we "were not clearly approvable. We later filed an IR-1 and were approved. The funny thing about it is the CO at the IR-1 interview asked us why the K-1 wasn't approved. His tone of voice,his mannerisms and how he was shaking his head in disbelief let us know that we should have been granted the K-1.

Reason given was :" I don't think yours would be a lasting marriage." I asked why, CO's reply was :" Just a gut feeling."

We were denied on a discretionary 'gut feeling' which very well may have been a case of indigestion from a pot of beans.

Second K1 approved.
