got email and text about i-130 approved , i-485 "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed", same day as the most horrible interview i ever encountered(as a naturalized usa citizen) , the IO was very rude to my wife(i-485 applicant) because my wife over stayed her j-1 visa, and overlooked all our marriage evidence , by the end she even said "did you gather your stuff? you can walk out", how bad overstaying j-1 can damage our case? we are about to have our first baby girl

Unforgettable.

Overstaying by itself will not directly affect your case.

after involving the congressman office a month ago, i got a call today from the congressman office saying on april 15 USCIS sent me a request for evidence(which i still didn't receive) for 1-immigrant wife original birth certificate 2-proof of wife school enrollment after changing from j-1 to f-1 (my wife never changed from j1) to be mailed to them within 87 day from april 15, no change on website status .

question is, whats with the f1? we have never thought or attempted to change her status, is the officer being a total *&%?

Unforgettable.

Sounds like they may have confused her case with someone else's.

If the RFE was issued on April 15th, it should arrive in the mail shortly. It may not have been mailed until this week. Give it a few days and see what the RFE actually says.

we got the letter today forwarded from our previous address(we did change and received immigration mail to the new address)

re: -485

1- submit a copy of the original birth certificate for the applicant(we already did)

2- submit evidence that proves you attended interexchange, inc. this includes but not limited to:

-certified school transcripts

-a letter from the records department on school letterhead stating the dates you were enrolled and attended school

-tuition bills

-other documents that shows you attended the school.

all documents must be in a sealed envelope from the school.

here is the problem, Interexchange, inc. is a work and travel agency , not a school, a simple google search will do, i contacyed them for a letter but they wont send a sealed letter nor they have records department , anybody had this before ? thanks for any input into this

Unforgettable.

I would make an infopass appointment. Maybe they can clarify what they want. Mostly it looks like the IO was sloppy. They sometimes ask for school records but there is not really a reason they would need them. However I can't think what else they would be asking for.

the lady from the congressman office asked if she can file the response with the birth certificate and a letter from interexchange attesting that my wife participated in a "work and travel program" , birth certificate is arriving next week, should i do that or infopass ? thanks
