Honestly stop worrying about the overstay. You're adjusting status.

Without a passport the ability to make it even onto a plane is almost impossible.

I agree with your decision to wait. You'll be fine. :)

I'd definitely start your paperwork now. It took us a while to get everything together, especially with my mum sending my birth certificate and tracking down all the joint sponsor tax paperwork. Good luck!

Thank you so much.can i still come and ask questions here or someone personaly if i need some help?

We can hire a lawyer but i feel like it's gonna take way longer and he would just say the same thing as here people on the forum.

Any questions you have you can either search out answers for or ask in the AOS from work, student, and tourist visa section. In the progress report side you'll proabably find a thread for people who file when you do too.

You'll be here for some time as you'll need to remove the conditions from your fist green card. Also if you ever want US citizenship you can find help for that here too.

i though i can use that paper because it have water marks. But prob no...

Photo ID is essential in most places...I highly doubt you will get a pass with a photocopy or something with your photo on it.

Hell, you can't even buy alcohol without a photo ID and you believe you will get away with a paper without your photo?

Hi guys, so a sheriff called today to tell me they found my passport. Yey! The problem is we went to the consulate last friday to report it missing, in which they cancelled it along with my ID card. The sheriff said we can pick it up monday. Can we still use it to get a marriage licence even though it is cancelled?

I don't know which country you are from but I am from the UK and I lost my passport a few years ago. I was told that if it is found it has to be cut or defaced immediately and not used for anything because it may have been copied or used for forgery. I would check with your embassy because your passport is property of your government and it is up to them whether you are allowed to use it for ID purposes. You certainly won't be able to travel with it but using it to prove your age in a bar or your ID to get a marriage licence might be different.

This is true... However, you can not use the Passport for travel purposes you can use it for ID purposes.. getting a marriage license they only want to see it is you and that you match the ID (that is why you need a photo).

If you are that worried, i would use the ID to get married and then after give it back to your embassay after... they dont write the passport number down or anything like that when you get married. It is still a form of VALID ID! as you are the person in the picture and date of birth.
