Also, if it takes long and the immigrant has reached 3 years on their residency (minus 90 days), you can file the N-400 for naturalization, even if the I-751 is not adjudicated yet. This will force them to adjudicate the I-751. (Proof of having filed the I-751, such as copy of NOA1 is necessary to send with the N-400 packet in such a case.)

Interesting. I didn't know these things could overlap each other. Thank you so much. Btw, I have some questions about naturalization. I know my husband can apply starting this November, but how did you prepare for the test? Did you study all of the questions really hard? What is the English portion like? My husband's English is good, but he knows pretty much nothing about American historical figures or events. What advice would you give? Congrats on your citizenship :D

You get a book & CD at your biometric appointment (if they forget, ask for it). One just studies that. You can listen to the CD in the car for example. The English portion is just writing a simple question & answer down. Other than that, the interviewer during the interview decides if one's English is "good enough", but basically if you can communicate effectively, read & write, you are good to go.

oh my God, every time i see RFE i get frustrated more ad more. We also responded to RFE yesterday, our problem that we don't have my name on utility bills. We have changed 3 apartments since I moved to the US and added all of them to envelope. We also added 3 affidavit letters from his co-workers and one of my friends. How long it's gonna take and do how much percent of chance we get approved?

no one can tell you for sure, each case is totally different

Some take a few days, some take a few months. Each case is different.

Agree.

We got our ROC approved about a week after RFE response was submitted. YMMV.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
