Anyone else find Montreal pure frustrating? You can no longer talk to someone on the phone and I every question you ask they give you a general answer.

I keep asking them if the NOA2 expires this month and we are unable to schedule an interview till April (earliest open spot) can they extend the NOA2? They keep answering with it is up to the person doing the interview.... Is this correct? I have read some people send in an updated intent to marry letter and they extend it. I have also read they extend it automatically. What is the real answer? And is there anywhere to check if it has been extended?

it is isn't your fault that NOA2 would expire before your case closed. If you have updated version of the letter of intent for the interview, hold onto. And let the embassy worry about the expiration date which is not in your power. Some ppl fuss about it and get the embassy to extend it but usually, the CO extends the "life span" of your process.

You were told it is up to the CO, so wait..

You won't be kicked out of the line because of the expiration date.

Bring an updated Intent to Marry from the US Citizen, dated within 30 days of your interview. Montreal automatically extends the expiration dates. Mine expired Nov 23 and my interview was Dec 2nd. I never contacted Montreal and it was never brought up during my interview, but I noticed when I got my visa in my passport that my petition had in fact been extended to April.

No worries ours expired also. Just make sure that when you arrive at the interview you have all your documents updated before hand. Letter of intent, financial proof documents and forms all with in 30 days of the interview date.

Also ask them at the interview to update the NOA2 date so it shows a future date. They did that with ours.
