i am ready to submit my citizenship application in 5 year rule. I am still married to my USC but been seperated for almost 8 years, i have a doubt to ask him for help, i had a feeling that he will cause me trouble, so i decided to do it in 5 year rule. Asking for help in what are the documents needed that i need to gather and submit to USCIS if i am applying in 5 year rule. Any input will be appreciated. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Since you are applying under the 5 year rule, you do not need to be living with, or even married to, the USC through which you got your green card.

However, during the naturalization interview, the interviewer can ask questions to verify that you got your GC legitimately. This means that he can ask questions about your marriage (or about your employer if you got your GC through employment).

Under the 5 year rule, you won't have to show that you are currently in a legitimate relationship, but you may have to show that you were in such a relationship when you got your green card.

If you were in a legitimate marriage for several years, that shouldn't be hard to demonstrate... if you separated a few weeks after removing conditions or if you never lived together, it may be harder.

As for documents to send in with your application, just look at the document checklist on the N400 page on the USCIS website.

Take additional documentation related to your marriage to the interview just in case you are asked about it. When the interviewer finds out that you are separated from your spouse, he/she may want to ask a few additional questions.
