K-1 for UK fiancé...understanding the timelines!

Hi, until I get more versed with the timelines offered within VJ and online with USCIS and other resources....has someone recently secured a K-1 from the UK and if so and under a 'typical' scenario, how long did it take from in the initial petition of the I-129F through to getting the visa? I'm just hoping to set the expectations right with my partner and my work and I want to give a good range....is it 4 months, or longer...

Other than the medical and my fiancé affidavit of support, I have all the documentation prepared for the interview.

Several who started in September are getting visas already this month or have an interview scheduled for this month. That's LONDON K1s specifically.

A few have 4 months from petitions until visa but most I have seen are around 5 months? It depends how quickly they issue you an interview and how on the ball you are with chasing things up.

You can go to the UK portal and look at other posters timelines to see how long it took from NOA1 to AOS. However, that only works if people complete and update their timeline, which I notice not many do anymore.

We started in Oct and I had my interview in London last week but I wouldn't base your expectations on that, we have been lucky and had a very smooth journey at every stage, delays or hiccups can happen at any point.

OP, as you can see from my timeline this process took a considerable amount of time for one reason: and that was being unfortunately stuck at Texas Service Center. After the approval, you can see how fast things went from there to have visa in hand. Since early last year however, cases are always being processed at California Service Center. In general, if uncomplicated and no errors or RFEs, cases seem to move at that office from a few weeks to a few months. There is no precise way to be certain. You can imagine how difficult it was for persons last year to have their case reaching day 300+ at Texas and see a case approved in California within 7... yes, 7 days. But that's fairly a moot point now because of the new change. After an approval at California (whether it take a few weeks to a few months), based on most people's uncomplicated cases it should take a few additional months to get through the rest of the process from the NVC receiving it and sending it on to London to the medical and interview phase.

I know you posted this a few weeks ago but I'm bored & looking through the forums. I filed for my husband in 2014 (seems so long ago now, but it was such a difficult time). My timeline is in my signature. It took about ten months from filing date to his arrival. We had a few hiccups (the medical center KEPT his police report instead of giving it back to him. He was too sick-from all the shots-to realize they hadn't returned it. This meant that it took an extra month-because of the holidays-for his visa to be issued). Plus, the initial processing took forever.
