I already have a Philippine passport before my husband and I got married. Can I use my old passport under my maiden name or should I update it?

Cause when I went to the DFA they said they said I should have a seminar or something either in Cebu or Manila and it's really gonna take awhile to do all those.

Hello! I'm new here. sorry if i have to post it here.. i don't know where and how to create a thread :(

My Husband is filing a petition for me (Spouse F2A Category since He is a LPR) this coming February 9, 2016 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

We got married last September 8, 2015, Here in the Philippines..

He brought all the documents in Honolulu to file for a F2A PETITION

such as;

1.MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ( NSO PHILIPPINES CERTIFIED)

2.COPY OF OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE FROM THE PHILIPPINE LOCAL REGISTRY

3.COPY OF MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE (NSO PHILIPPINES CERTIFIED)

4. 2X2 PASSPORT SIZE PICTURE

This coming February 9, 2016

He's filling a FORM I-130(PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE) AND FORM G 1145 (E-NOTIFICATION OF APPLICATION/PETITION ACCEPTANCE)

My question is.. My Husband doesn't have a copy of my passport bearing his SURNAME as Mrs. Ramos.

my passport is still under my Maiden Name... and it will expire on March 2019...

Do I need to renew my passport before he file.. or can it be to follow ?

i'm confused and not familiar on the list of requirements needed to be passed to USCIS...

PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME....

THANKS IN ADVANCE... God Bless!

LOVE,

MRS. RAMOS
