Travel question

Not sure if this is the right board to post this so sorry in advance if not.

I got my green card through my marriage last April, when I got married I changed my last name (hyphenated my new last name with my dad's last name) and my lawyer told me I needed to submit all my forms with my new hyphenated last names because that's how the marriage certificate is ...my Passport has my maiden last name and I went to the closes consulate last week to see if I could get a new one with my new last names because I'm traveling to my country in 4 weeks but they told me they cant do that because they go by what my birth certificate and my cédula (certifícate of citizenship) say, I could change my cedula but that's a long process, according to them 4-6 weeks so it won't give me time ...I explained to them that my passport says my maiden name but my green card says my new hyphenated combination but they told me that wit be a problem and that all of them travel like that.

Do you guys thing I'm gonna have any problem, I'm going to take my marriage certificate with me in case they say something but I'm kinda nervous, it's been 12 years since I left my country and I don't want anything to go wrong

If the name on the passport, doesn't match the name on the GC, also carrying a copy of your marriage certificate is a good idea. This is a very often discussed topic on the various AOS-associated forums, check some recent similar-themed threads for more information.

This is fairly common as Pitaya said. Simply buy your airline tickets in your maiden name to match your passport to avoid issues at airline check-in and Columbia immigration, then keep a copy of your marriage certificate with you in case CBP compares your boarding passes with your GC when you re-enter the US.
