The problem is not at the USCIS approval stage but at the appointment setting stage lol. After USCIS, its NVC then its Embassy.... the Embassy part is the bottleneck for appointment so far at least for China lol no appointment available....

These days, yes, for most people. But just a few months ago, State Department was the fastest part for about half the applicants. Even a 4 month wait for an Embassy appointment is speedy when compared with an 8 month wait for NOA2.

They're pretty out of date then. The last people to apply who were facing an 8 month wait for NOA2 were people who applied through the end of March 2014. Trust me this was a big, big thing here this time a year ago, and I applied right into it and was a part of the push (to the degree permitted by my employment-- long story there) to get the situation fixed.

I'm so glad those days are behind us CatherineA!! It was hard going on all of us emotionally but we galvanised and channeled our energy into trying to make a change even with the knowledge it likely wouldn't benefit our cohort. I was a January 2015 filer and the campaign was driven as well by people who filed from approx sept 2014.

Now it's just a distant bad memory but I'm happy that's it's a lot quicker for those that came after us.

I filed end of October and was about a week to NOA1 and 3 months for NOA2.

Philippines filers were expedited for a long time because of a natural disaster- typhoon from memory.

NVC stage still has people from 2014 stuck there

and interviews are slow to be scheuled in almost every country even when it says ready for interview

Yes... still waiting for interview.. they dont even have a spot for anyone... kinda weird to me.. like a loophole to slow down immigration or something.

i called the uscis yesterday and requested an expedited due to problems in my fiance country

they e-mailed me today saying that

Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 45 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice , Request for Evidence, or Notice of Intent to Deny.
