Im wondering if having absconded from my overseas job where my visa was processed will be basis for aos denial? is this a crime of moral turpitude?

Why did you abscond from work? Were you suspected/accused of doing something you should not have done?

If all you did was walk out on a job, I don't see any problem here. the "Crime of Moral Torpitude" focuses on arrests and convictions of actual crimes, not someone quitting their job without notice.

Well here's the thing, unless your job pressed charges for a crime, you essentially just walked out on a job, which is not a crime.

Do you mean that you were working under a work visa and left the job while still where ever you were with that visa?

yes i was working on a work visa i believe normal procedure is they will file a police report that your missing

1. When did you receive your work Visa?

2. When did you quit the job?

3. What Country was your Work Visa issued by?

4. If that Country was the US have you obtained a different Visa to regain lawful status?

5. If the Country was the US, have you left and returned to your home country (If yes, how long from the time you quit your job was it before you returned home)

6. If the country was the US, and you have not obtained a different Visa to regain lawful status, and you are still in the US, how long has it been since you quit the job?

You received a Visa to work in a country other than the US, I doubt that it will affect your ability to Adjust Status in the US.

Even if they reported to the authorities that you abandoned the job, if you did not remain in the country beyond the terms of your Visa there was no crime committed.

In the US if an H1B recipient quits their job, the employer must notify the government, who then revokes their status, and they need to leave asap. However if they stay greater than 180 days they receive a 3 year ban. I am sure other countries have similar policies, so as long as you stayed within the terms of your Visa and departed the country, I believe there should be no criminal offense that would affect your AOS.

Have you already submitted your AOS Paperwork and are just worried about the interview, or are you preparing to file the I-485.

If you have already filed the I-485 you don't need to bring additional police records to your interview.

If you have not filed the I-485, and you were not arrested or convicted of a crime in the country, you do not need to submit police records. But for your own peace of mind, and just incase you will need to submit them with your I-485 you can always contact the government there and request a copy of your police records.
