What did they have to put up with, You mean the same exact treatment as others, or perhaps you think we should have treated them different because they are black?

They both saw race in everything and interjected race into everything and then complained becuse we talked about race.

Have you noticed how few racial discussions we have had recently.

However I got along well with both, and was never disrespectful and vice versa. However I am not going to agree with absurd statements just because of someone's skin color. That is the politics of appeasement.

i don't think you should have treated them differently because they are black, but i do think that white people telling black people that they bring up race too much or complain about race too much or that the 'see race in everything' shows zero class. and that's pretty much what it came down to, they couldn't talk about anything without immediately getting hit with responses that involved race and yet they weren't supposed to talk about race and when they did, or when they responded to something that involved race their perspective was immediately brushed off as 'oh they see race in everything' well maybe, just maybe..white people don't see race in everything because we don't have to. and that isn't a luxury black americans have. i know marvin had a ton more patience with you (and others) than i will ever have when it comes to racial topics. tbone was talking about cringe worthy posts, well all the white posters going on and on about racial issues while simultaneously discrediting the perspective of the black posters we had, those are the cringe worthy posts that i see.

the politics of appeasement? in order to appease you have to be in a position to do so. and i think that's the big problem here..certain posters have opinions regarding black people that will never allow them to honestly consider the black perspective without first attaching the premise that they're complaining, that they're just trying to get something for free, that they need to get over it. i'm not asking you or anyone else to agree with anyone simply because they're of a different skin color. but when it comes to racial issues your white perspective MATTERS LESS than the black perspective and that is why i think ultimately many posters chose to brush them off, no matter what they were talking about. there haven't been many racial discussions lately because there haven't been any discussions lately, at all. wonder why that is? seems like there was a concerted effort to run people off. i don't know, just how it looked to me.
