Also... this may be a stupid question, but what's the best number to call to reach a tier 2 officer? Thank you, awesome community!!

Just call and I believe you choose option number 2 to hear case updates then wait to speak to a representative. When they get on the phone, you tell them you'd like to speak to a tier-2 officer, and they'll transfer you to an automated system to leave your name and number and the officer will call you back.

I believe i can file a service request also. Although, i just sent my package for N400 on Wednesday after seeing that they were processing December 28, 2015 at VSC. Should i still file a service request now that my N400 is delivered to them ?

If your notice date is before the new date posted on the website, I believe you shouldn't wait for the N400 to be delivered and just go ahead and file it. You should give them a call and speak to a tier-2 officer and tell them you're outside of normal processing time and you haven't heard anything.

Brilliant. I will call them. I tried submitting it online and it keeps giving me the below error :

"You must select the Form Number associated to your Receipt Number. The Form Number you selected does not match our records for that Receipt Number. "

Last time it did this, i called them and they said that it was because it was still under normal processing time. Hopefully, this time they can do something. Cheers

My husband called this morning and got a teir 2.  Really no help from them.  Does anyone know if only the green card petitioner can call?  He doesn't have all the knowledge about what to ask for and didn't really pry for more information like I would've.

His report on the call:

They just kept saying it will be handled soon. They weren't very helpful for such a long wait.

The applicant or a representative (attorney) can call. What do you know he doesn't have all the knowledge about what to ask for? If you're filing for the removal of conditions for yourself then you should be the one calling. If you're out of the normal processing times, then file a service request. If you don't hear anything, contact your congressman and file a request on the Ombudsman website (they tend to pressure USCIS to expedite cases that are lagging).

My husband the green card holder via K1 visa.  I'm the US citizen who had done all the paperwork and all the research every step of the way to get him here with me. <3  I think he basically called asked for a teir 2 and after waiting for one the teir 2 said it's taking long and he was done.  :(

If that's the error you're getting, then you can try to use the other receipt number from the notice of biometrics. You can use one or the other, but it'll work.

Well, you should prep the husband then for the questions to ask. The few tier-2 officers I have spoken to lately were all very nice (and that's super fluffy with USCIS standards), so give him a list of questions or be on the call and put it on speaker then and feed your husband the replies. lol

Hi just a quick update on my situation as well.I got a stamp on Wednesday valid for 1 year however I called yesterday and spoke to a tier officer who was super nice and basically took all my information and submitted another request into why it's taking so long and he said I should have a response within 2 days....I am being hopeful

Just got off the phone with a Tier 2 officer. He was very nice, but only read the email that the USCIS had sent me previously -- your case has been placed on a processing hold because the security checks are not complete. I asked him if there's any way to inquire about the delay or anything else that can be done, and his answer was no, just wait.

I'm considering contacting the ombudsman and/or the congressional representative. Has anyone ever had experience with these two venues? I don't want to keep annoying the USCIS, but it's crazy that they can't provide any information!

You don't want to annoy USCIS?  If they were competent and efficient you wouldn't have to!

Definitely contact a representative!  It is their job to represent you.  Your application is taking too long.
