I checked my status on USCIS website today and it says

"we ordered your new card and will mail it to the address you gave us."

Yay! Finally!

This is about 2 weeks after I sent my RFE.

It states that the status of an ROC petitioner remains valid until a decision is made on the application, even if the I-797 "expires".

That is correct. But you can't prove for an officer that you are legal if your letter and greencard are expired. They don't have this information with them or in their computers. They have to arrest you and take you to police station and then they can make an inquiry about your status. Just talked with an officer last week.

That's really crazy. I've never been asked for an ID except for my drivers license. Better safe than sorry then, I guess.

December 7th the card was delivered. Picked up from mail today!

Did you put the blue and white sheets into the attached envelope? I did so and tracking# shows they received my RFE docs on Nov 4 and I have not heard anything since then...I'm not sure if it is because your local office is in Houston and mine is in California (which I assume is really busy) or.....

I only attached the blue sheet. The letter only mentioned to include the blue sheet. I sent it to CSC not to Houston local office. I hope you got an update soon.

Anyway, on Dec 6 I got an update that they sent my card to my address, and Dec 8 I got it in the mail. Yay! Finally!

Hi guys,

Is the 1 year extension (NOA1) of green card starts on the date of receipt (in my case 2/26/2016 to 2/25/2017) or 1 year extension from the date green card expired (5/22/2016 to 5/21/2017)?

When should I get I-551 stamp in the passport- after 2/25/2017 or after 5/21/2017?

I’m going to Mexico on March 1^st, 2017. From the way VSC is working I’m not sure if I’ll be getting my green card by then. Is it OK to travel to Mexico with i-551 stamp in the passport (Indian passport)? I don’t think I’ll have any issue in the US immigration when I come back but I’m not sure if Mexican immigration would accept i-551. Do any of you have information regarding this?

We went through US customs at Dublin airport earlier this month, and the person we spoke with told us they go by the date on the NOA letter. If we plan to travel out of the US again after the Feb expire date, we need the stamp.

VSC is always slow for some reason... When I was checking out last year posts vsc takes literally about a minimum of 11 months to 15 months after the app was submitted to approve it. The longest I saw was about 18 months. Hang in there. It's coming.
