Oh thank you so much. I'll call again. Do you happen to have any reference for the rule? Thanks!

USCIS themselves, from the many VJ Forum testimonials of previous callers in the same boat as you. People who have called sooner than 30 days have been told they must wait 30 days. And people who have called after 30 days have had success in getting a service request when talking to a tier 2 representative. Good luck. Let us know what you find out. :) Edited by Leon & Mylen

My wife's biometrics was yesterday at 3:00. We arrived at 2:00 and was back in the car driving home at 2:30. We were at the same applicant service center in Atlanta on Collier Road as when she did the biometrics with AOS. The people that work in that office are always super nice and friendly. I guess just like with the K1 and AOS it is time to hurry up and wait for the 10 year green card.

God bless

Can't wait to see somebody approved! I guess I'd better prepare for a long wait....lol!

Thanks, I indeed was able to get more information. Apparently, it's just taking a longer time because the agent who got my case was overloaded. At least they told me that my case is now electronically added to the appointment scheduler and I should get a biometrics notice soon. Hopefully that will happen soon and the rest will go fast...

30 days after you receive your NOA1, you can request a service request. The rep you talked to was giving you false information. Call again and once you get someone on, immediately ask to speak to a tier two representative. They will put you on hold for a long time. Then once a tier two representative gets on, demand a service request for both the status of your application AND the updated case number (which you don't have).

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a positive experience with your biometrics. I wanted to know if you all know how far in advance they usually send RFEs or interview letters before the actual deadline/interview. I have to travel to Europe in September for 3 weeks, which will be the 7-month mark, which is when RFEs or interviews might start coming in. I am worried that I will miss the letter and miss deadline or interview since I will be gone for most of September. Ideally I will have someone checking my mailbox for me, but if not, do you know if they offer ample time or if it's a rush kind of thing?

Thanks!

Apparently they are only scheduling interviews for approximately 15 percent of all applicants, so there is an 85 percent chance you won't need an interview at all and will just get the new green card in the mail. As far as the time, it is around 6 months wait time, upon which you will get that green card, an interview appointment, or an RFE. An RFE delays it an extra month.

Hey~ I gave my biometrics on March 19 and haven't heard back from them since. I checked my status online and it kept saying "case was received on Feb 18. Has anyone checked their online status after the biometrics? Does the system show any updated info?

This is normal. The on-line status update is just going to continue showing case received and processing until a decision is made regarding the case. Biometrics is only a part of the process moving toward that decision. If all goes smoothly and no interview, the status won't change until the card is produced. This is practically identical to the AOS waiting game except for the case number being on the Bio letter instead of NOA.

Great, NoelAnne! I'm glad you've got that over with! Now you can relax for 5-6 months, heheh! :D

@halohaaa: I honestly wouldn't bother checking the online status every day; we likely won't hear anything for 6 months, and then it will probably be your mailed 10-year card before the online status is updated.
