Can we get dates from a few of you (3-4) who have received their biometrics letters, as to when the biometrics letter is sent out relative to NOA1 date? The table has the appointment date but not the date of the letter.

I see people with a 2/02 NOA1 date with 3/11 biometrics, and others with 2/17 NOA1 date with 3/07 biometrics (earlier than the guys who filed more than 2 weeks prior!), so the actual appointment date has no correlation to the NOA1 date. Likely because it depends on the workload of the field office that will do your biometrics.

So, instead, what I want to be able to know is that the biometrics letters are sent out approx. X number of days after the NOA1 date, looking for that X.

My NOA1 date is 2/22 so I guess there's still time for me to get my biometrics letter.

For us the NOA1 notice was 02-01-2016 and the postmark on the Biometrics letter was 02-22-2016, so that would be 21 days.

You might be able to do a walk in info pass myvhsband and i went yesterday to biometrics and there was this ladywho had no appointment the security guard suggested shebcome atv6:45am and they would let her in without and appoibtment

Doubt I'll be able to do this without the biometrics letter in San Diego. They wouldn't even accept walk-ins WITH the biometrics letter when we tried that for the AOS.

Probably can't do a walk-in in this member's case though as they don't have the biometrics letter. Without the receipt number they have no way of connecting them to the specific application that requires the data.

@Leon & Mylen - I think you have to wait 30 days from NOA1 date before calling in to request an update (at least that was the situation for another user in your situation here). I know waiting is unbearable especially since each timeline is so different right now but have faith it will come soon. If not, call in right on that 30 day mark and request a review.

Yeah, that's what they told me on the phone, and that's what I'm planning on doing. I'll call right on 3/19, exactly a month from the NOA1 date, and request a review. Do I need to make this request with a tier 2 CSR or can a tier 1 CSR handle the request?

I was reading elsewhere that they have been waiving the biometrics requirement for some if it was done within 2 years of the receipt of the I-751. I looked at our records and see that we had our biometrics for the AOS done on 2/20/14, meaning the NOA1 date of the I-751 was exactly one day before the 2 year mark. So maybe we lucked out in that it was waived.

Unfortunately, I also read that they don't notify you of this, and that it still requires a service request to find this out. It would explain the delay however.

This may vary slightly from one place to another but generally....once you walk in the office, the guards ask you to take everything out of your pockets (like airport security) and show the biometric appointment notice. Some places allow cell phones, others do not. Usually the places that do allow cell phones want you to have the phones turned off. Then you're asked to sit. A man/woman processing biometrics comes out to you and asks you to fill out a one-page form. The form asks for your biographic details (hair color, eye color etc.) and all the names you've used in life. Then you have to fill in the biometric appointment receipt number. Then you wait to be called. At some point, the same man or woman calls you in and asks you to sit to take a photo of you, which will be used as the picture on your green card. Then he/she captures fingerprints of all your fingers. You can see each print coming up on their computer. Once the computer is done capturing all the prints, the man/woman stamps your biometric notice to show that you attended the biometric appointment and returns the notice back to you. Then you go home. It's easy peasy... anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on how busy your location is. Good luck!

Yeah it definitely varies slightly from place to place by the sounds of it. We've never been asked to empty our pockets or anything like that, and the guard has always given me the form to fill out as soon as I've shown him the appointment notice. And then when you're called by someone, they enter your information from the sheet in to their computer, take the fingerprints, and then finally the photo before stamping the appointment letter and sending you on your way.

I'm in the same boat as you. California Service Center, NOA1 date of 2/19, and still waiting for my biometrics. In fact, I had been keeping an eye on your status for that reason, but you hadn't signed on since the end of February, so I was hoping that wasn't the reason your status was not yet updated, so it's actually a relief to hear that you, someone else with a 2/19 NOA1 date, haven't yet gotten your biometrics either.

I have two theories as to why we haven't gotten ours yet, where everybody else before us got theirs within two weeks after receiving their NOA1s (it's been 21 days for us)...

1. CSC is putting a brief hold on scheduling biometrics until space clears up.

2. (In my case), our last biometrics, which was for the AOS, was 2/20/2014, less than two years before the ROC NOA1. I read elsewhere that they sometimes waive the biometrics requirement if it is less than two years. Could be what happened.

When was your AOS biometrics?

I'd be curious to find out from others who HAVE received their biometrics letter from CSC, what their ROC NOA1 date is respective to their previous AOS biometrics date.

My biometrics date for AOS was 2 years to the day of this years appointment - March 7, 2014. My NOA1 for ROC was dated February 16, 2016. That would make my ROC NOA1 date less than 2 years from my previous biometrics capture. I'm sorry :(
