Hi Everyone,

Does anyone here already got NOA 2 Approved with MNL Case number in READY Status?

- How many days should I wait for my NVC Letter to be delivered? as advised in NVC Site, I should wait for the letter to arrived before the interview.

- Is there a way to check the address where the NVC delivered your letter? just want to make sure that they deliver it on the right address

Thanks everyone! :D

Hi gen_todd,

Thanks for your response. I am just worried as I know the NVC Letter is required and might ask on the day of the interview.

Typically the letter arrives within 15 to 30 days after you are text the approval (NOA2). The address they will use is from your 129-F. Your over thinking the process. Relax.... everything from this point forward you have control over.

You already have your MNL # ? Then you are good to go. The advice from NVC is focused on immigrant visas, that process is different.

The USC gets the letter from NVC, all it has is the MNL # along with basic petitioner/beneficiary info.

Like said if you have your MNL # you good to go ~ It is ROCK n ROLL time!!

Follow the flashing arrow below in my sig, get started by paying your visa fee at BPI, then setup your account, schedule your interview and complete your medical. And in the middle of all of that gather up the required documents (instructions letter)

NOPE. NVC letter is NOT asked for at the interview.

Follow the embassy instructions letter! http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/feb2015/K1-K2%20Applicant%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_February%202015_.pdf

NVC letter was received by my petitioner, here's some part of what it says that confuses me:

"The USEM will contact your fiancé when they are ready to process his/her petition.."

According to CEAC, our status us READY for interview.

Question is, are they gonna CONTACT or NOTIFY me really? Though i already printed the CEAC status READY for reference.

Yes... that is funny.... !! Not really... you may get lucky and get a letter... but most of us NEVER did.

Best advice is what I already gave above... it is ROCK n ROLL time!! Follow the flashing arrow below ... very quickly you will have your visa interview.

Oh yes, have your fiance email you a copy of the NVC letter, St. Luke's likes a couple copies of it for the medical.

Hello!

About NVC letter needed at the interview, it really depends on the officer behind the window.

When I did the biometrics, it was with an American officer. He had a sample of the NVC letter displayed on the window. As soon as my turn came up, he pointed to it and said he wants to see the letter from NVC. I panicked because I didn't really think it was needed. I was searching in my folder, and as I was doing that, he told me that if I can't find it, I'll have to move aside until I have it and he's gonna take the person behind me. Fortunately, I had printed out that letter which was scanned and emailed to me by my fiance.

The person who had her biometrics done from the next window (Filipina officer) said she was not asked for it. That was the only one time I was asked to show the letter from NVC.

I also learned that the guards look for it at St. Luke's extension clinic before they issue a priority number.

But again, as I've read from other VJers who have already completed medical & interview, the screenshot on the CEAC site that shows the MNL Case # and 'Ready' seems to work with them fine...my guess is that the American officer who asked for it just wanted to verify if the details (names) & the MNL case number are correct :)

The NVC letter is not listed in the K-1 embassy instructions letter. Thus it is not required.

The interview confirmation page is required. DS-160 confirmation page is required. NVC letter... not required EXCEPT for IMMIGRANT VISAS... K-1 is NOT an immigrant visa. Person at biometrics window did not understand you were a K-1... or was new, didn't have a clue what he was doing... thus an idiot. NVC letter for the immigrant visa is the interview confirmation.

As for St. Luke's, the NVC letter is listed as required, but the other option is the Interview confirmation page/email/letter. You only need one or the other, as noted in the requirements on the EMBASSY website. Embassy trumps SLEC. It is a PLUS to have the NVC letter for the medical, but for sure not required.

Ok Hank,

I listened to your advice and called NVC and they gave me INVOICE # and MNL# yesterday. I guess I got lucky because we just received our (NOA2) approval on 1-28-16 and I called NVC after 7 business days on 2-5-15 at 11:30pm eastern time.

To my surprise I only waited after recording for about 2 minutes before I spoke to someone. He asked me why I needed it before the NVC letter and I told him so I can track our case on the CEAC website and not have to call and annoy you. He laughed and gave me both invoice and case numbers.

Now I have a couple other questions to ask:

  • On the CEAC website our status still shows “AT NVC” is it still ok to schedule interview now, or should I wait until “IN TRASIT” or “READY”????
  • We want to schedule interview for the middle of March around 15, 16, or 17, 2016, will this give them enough time to receive our petition at the USEM in Manila?
  • If I pay the 265.00 application fee next Wednesday 2-10-16 can we still fill out the K-1 application on that same day, but just won’t be allowed to schedule appointment until payment posts 24 hours later?
  • Can you pre-register without payment being posted in order to see available appointment dates for March?

Thank you

First ... toss the invoice number, not used.

2nd: Scheduling for the middle of March should be fine, personally I would want to be sure the case file is in route. Being this is early in February don't expect March dates to be available for a week or two.

3rd: You can setup your account and complete the DS-160 before paying the visa feel

4th: Normally within 12-24 hours the payment at BPI posts so that you can schedule your interview.
