AOS Marriage based interview - Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed

The questions were related to day to day activities.

They started off by calling my husband(petitioner) first. After he came out I was called in. The office here called the spouses separately.

The office first makes to take an oath.

Then I was asked tyhe following questions;

What is your current address?.

Do you live in a house or apartment?

How many bedrooms?

How many bathrooms?

Who owns the house?

How many televisions? where are they located?

Do you share room with your husband?

Does you or him have any tattoos?

What is the size of the bed?

Color of the walls in the bedroom?

Any windows? Do the windows have blinds or curtains?

Who owns the house?

When and where did you get married?.

How did you meet?

How much time did you speak to each other before deciding to get married?.

The interview was pretty short. I would say 10 mins for me and 10 for my husband.

So the questions were basically to find out if you live together.

Sorry for the typos :)

So you answered two of the above questions differently, correct?

I can imagine if you gave 2 incorrect or conflicting answers to simple questions about what the place you have been living looks like, it could be cause for concern. Especially if they already had suspicions which it sounds like they did if you were interviewed separately.

I mean, I just moved into a new apartment less than a month ago and the only question I might not have been able to answer 100% correctly about the place is the bed size, but that's only because I am unfamiliar about bed sizing in general.

@Morgan&Michael

So the questions we answered differently were - What is the color of the walls in your bed room?.

I answered beige(lighter shade of beige) and my husband said white.

And my husband was asked when he had flown in to meet me while I was working in Houston.

I answered end of September 2014 and said I was not sure what exact date was and my husband said October 2014.

So we were not terribly off in my opinion. I'm not sure how they do their evaluation. There is always room for error when the questions are mostly based on memory.

And does anyone know if they are doing on the spot approvals or rejections anymore?.

I am sorry to hear about your experience! To answer your question - I know 'they' (uscis) do approvals on the spot (unless you mean 'they' as a specific location where you had your interview) - we had our interview on Feb. 2nd (Las Vegas) and were not separated and approved on the spot, told the GC is coming in the mail. Stay strong - it will work out!

  • 1 year later...

I had my interview in Bloomington MN yesterday.

We met him for 30minutes, and mostly went over the application. He just asked us how we met and how many people attended the wedding.

The officer was very friendly and polite. He said he just needs to look and my background check and otherwise my application looks good and we should get our card soon.

Now I am so impatient. I hope they approve it soon. I had to wait 1 year for an interview.

How long did it take you guys to get it after "...case must be reviewed"

our interview lasted about 30 minutes, and only ask basic questions like how we met? how long we've known each other? where we got married? IO also asked if I miss my home country and I said, no because US is my home now and my husband is here. She also ask if I have any friends here and my husband answered "yes me" and the yes and no question from the I-130. We were never separated. My husband and I knew each other back in the Philippines, we are from the same town, and also went on the same school when we are in 1st grade (we are actually classmates, but he is two years older than me and I got accelerated a couple of times in school). After years and years of no connection; we miraculously got reconnected through facebook and met again for the first time here in UNITED STATES.

In my case it took them a month and a half to reach a decision, I am in LOS ANGELES AREA. I hope this information helps, I know waiting is a pain I had been in your shoes, but at this point all you can do is wait.

I and my husband had our interview yesterday at Bloomington Office in Minnesota.

I came to the US on F1 and have been working on H1B since then and my husband is a US citizen(not by birth).

It felt like the interview went pretty well. We compared our answers after coming back.

Besides 2 answers everything else matched.

At the end of the interview, after yes/no questions the interviewer explained the procedure about removing conditions 90 days before the expiration of temporary green card. She then said that she has some verification to run after which a decision will be mailed in 2 weeks.

When I checked the status on USCIS website it says "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed"

Has anyone gone through a similar situation?

And does anyone know if they are doing on the spot approvals or rejections anymore?.

Any information will be appreciated.

Do you have response yet as am In simituation and it's already six weeks . Thanks
