To address your worry. Filing as HOH should not hurt the interview. It is a perfectly legal way to file (as long as you are raising a child or have another qualified dependent you care for).

There are other tax strategies which would get you a higher refund but you have not done anything wrong as far as an interview is concerned.

Thank you so much for your advice. Yes, I am a "single father," so to speak so I have filed as HOH up to this point. Was just not aware of this other filing I could have done. Amending the return to show even further "proof" at the interview would not be an issue. Just waiting for the refund to come in and then I will amend it so I can have it ready for the interview as it appears, after two weeks since our CC, we might be seeing an interview until mid to late March or even later.
