They have 120 days after the interview to decide whether or not to approve your application. That's what the law says but sometimes they take longer. It depends on the reason why they couldn't decide at the intervie.

If you are approved, your online status will be updated to "Inline for Oath". If you don't have an online USCIS account, then you will just have to wait for an oath ceremony letter in the mail.

If you are denied, you will get a denial letter in the mail.

If then need more information, they will send you a "Request for Evidence" in the mail.

Hi everyone, I just passed my citizenship test yesterday everything was fine. I signed two papers I also signed on my Photographs.

then I got this checked:

you passed the tests of English .....

USCIS, will send you a written decision your application
B) A decision cannot yet be made about your application.

No idea why did I get this instead of congratulation checked. really worried about it.

i singed two papers and photos, does it mean a good sign?

I asked the IO why is this, she just told me after a decision is made you will get mail you.

I passed, what else she need? if anything was wrong why didn't she tell me?

please help me out if know anything about this kind of situation.

hello we are in the same boat. I just have my interview last Tuesday (5-2-17) and i passed my test and the IO hand me the N-652 and state there that i passed the test and the decision in my application cannot make this time.i i applied under 5 year rule still married to USC but we are not living together and we are not divorce. IO ask me if i have a document that our both name is in there, i hand him our bank account, a life insurance which he is the 2nd beneficiary. he just looked at the documents and hand it to me, and he asked if there is anything else and i said no. He asked me if we have a health insurance together and i told him No because he is under Medicare and dont have Traditional Insurance, he also ask me if we file taxes together and i said No because he dont file taxes anymore. he keep on and on with his question and i keep answering his question. then he hand me the N-652 and the outcome is he cannot make a decision with my application. just wondering what happen to your application did you already have your citizenship? i am really hoping you answer my question. thank you
