I also just sent my I130 but I have to plan ahead because it is not that easy to travel to the US in short notice I work here in Bosnia and have to request time off. Other thing is that the ticket is expensive.

We will be filling taxes married for the last 3 years.

filing taxes is required by NVC no matter domicile status... So you (and I) will have to do that either way... Since the whole IRS thing is super complex I'm just gonna play safe and hire a tax firm to do my taxes... (it's gonna cost me around 800 dollars for all 3) ...YIKES!

JFH my case is not online yet. I have been checking couple times a day...hihi. I think it should be online soon.

The last upload they did was receipt number ysc1690003505 and thats for a petition filed 1/19 or 1/20. They take a long time to upload receipt numbers. I use to check a few times a day but stop because these people will drive us crazy lol. Since I just got my receipt number they haven't loaded much receipts and my number is not even close to that last receipt upload I am thousands of applications away from ysc1690003505 :/

My I-130 has 2/3 as NOA1 at YSC and has not been in the system as well when I checked.

So, now that our case is on the online tracking system, I have been checking it like crazy. So far it says "my case was received" with the information that a receipt notice has been sent and who to call if we don't receive that. Then it says "if we accept your case we will send ..." So, has the case been accepted at this stage or not? I thought received and accepted were the same. They open your package, make sure everything has been signed where it should be, take the payment and set up the file. Or have I misunderstood?

I do not know if you get more detailed information on your case opening an ELIS account, the option to track cases is in it and after the interview at the embassy you will need to open one anyways to pay the immigrant fee of $ 165.

I wish I knew of this ELIS thing when I was in the USCIS stage. Try it, it may be better than the regular USCIS case status page.

According to what I read it tracks also the Green Card itself after the immigration fee is paid among other things you can do electronically with USCIS.

Hello all! I'll be traveling to Lima, Peru to do a DCF with the USCIS office located inside the U.S. Embassy there. I'll be submitting Tuesday the 23rd. I hope I have everything OK. I've emailed the USCIS here in Peru so many times, and of course have been looking around VisaJourney. Sometimes you just don't know how it will go until you get there.

Hey guys, so I still haven't received my NOA1 even though it was sent out February 4th to the Chicago lockbox....I've been calling the USCIS support number and they've checked and I still don't have a case. I lost the money order number and my attorney doesn't have the tracking number (he mailed it out for me).

I'm really worried. What do your guys advice me to do?

I think the best part about doing DCF, is they go over everything while you are there. If there are ant changes that needs to be done on the form they point it out and give it back to you to change on the spot. Just have every doc with you in case they need a copy, or translation done. In Bangkok, they usually don't want the birth certificate, but since my wife had changed her name 3 times ( Its a Thai thing ), they wanted a translated copy even though I had copies of the legal name change papers and translations. I showed the woman the original, all in pieces (stored in bamboo,partly eaten by termites) and told her that I had tried to get it translated but no one would do it since there were parts missing. She pieced it together on her deck and said there was enough info that could be read and told us to try again. It was getting late and the office closes at noon. She tolds us that if we got it translated to give her a call, that she would be there until 3 or 4 and she would let us in to complete

Yeah :/ I've been so irresponsible, I should've requested a copy of the tracking number from the attorney and not have misplaced the money order.

I will join too since I sent mine off at the very end of Jan, we are doing DCF but I seem to be "all alone in this boat" since nobody from my country is posting here.
BTW Dal&Rose, which game did you meet your wife through? (we met through gaming too, that is why I am asking)

You can never have too many documents IMO!!
I had EVERYTHING and the kitchen sink with me when we filed, good thing too because they wanted a few things (like his residence permit) to start the process. When we filed I had NO idea what DCF was and I nearly made a fool of myself.
Also I had copies of everything however they will copy things on the spot for you. Silly me, I was filing 3 I-130s but only had copies of things once when I needed everything in triplicate!! They were nice enough to do the extra copies themselves!!

There were some things that I was told I don't need yet..

like a copy of my Peruvian husband's passport

copy of his birth certificate

...but maybe I'll bring those along too just in case.
