Just posting an update since I checked the thread after months.

After our petition got approved in early May 2016 ... still waiting on the rest of the process. So far we've only submitted the AoS fee and all the documents are yet to be gathered up. Biggest issue Affidavit of Support since my wife doesn't work. I work outside of the US but don't think that would help!

Aren't you able to get a cosponsor in the USA?

We're trying to get a relative over their be a co-sponsor (I guess thats what meant by affidavit of support?) - but its been difficult.

The whole process has taken too long because of the AoS part. :| My wife initially tried to file the petition back in Jan 2014 so its been almost 2 years waiting for us plus however more time it takes now till the remaining paperwork + interview.

My case was received at the USCIS on February 9. Now I am on the 5th week at the NVC stage.

I think most of you must have finished the whole process by now.

You're almost at the end of this long journey! The NVC has slowed down lately but you are over the worst.

My interview is on Tuesday.

I think there are still several people at the NVC.

How long does it take before I'm given a number from NVC? My case was allegedly "expedited" over to NVC after its approval due to a health issue my wife is having. I was then told to call this passed Wednesday, however they keep telling me it takes six weeks to even be given a number.......this is stressful because it's important we leave as soon as possible. I already waited ten months just to get my I130 approved..

Best of luck with your interview, @JFH

Post back how it goes and keep visiting here even after you fly over :)

@me&mykenyan It should be done soon. I hope don't have to wait longer. But I'm in same boat as you :) 10 months and we even yet have to begin with NVC documents submission and then a good 3-6 months after that will be interview etc.. oh.. this is just too annoying.

Status update, our AOS and IV fee were finally cleared. AOS pkg is sent. IV pkg to be sent soon.

I wonder if people at the NVC will give a thought to our long stay at NVC and expedite things a bit.

A man can hope :)

Our case was on hiatus from our side actually as we had to find a joint sponsor so 10 months passed like that until now. We've luckily now paid all the fee and sent in all the required docs. I hope it doesn't get delayed any further but its just depressing to see there's at least another 4-5 months of average wait looking at the stats here for other approved users.

2 months on avg NVC processing after receving docs and fee.

another 40-50 days wait till interview after that

and another 10-20 days till the local embassy sends back the passport with Visa.

:(

I'm sorry to tell you, but as your Nebraska buddy, we are most likely waiting a few more months.

We filed at the beginning of February and our estimated time for NOA2 is September. :(

I can always hope it's sooner, but it seems everything slowed down.
