This wait is really frustrating me.

I can't believe you are still waiting! I'm keeping everything crossed for you that the wait is over very soon.

If it's any consolation, after this stage the next stage goes very fast. I can suddenly see light at the end of the tunnel.

This wait is really frustrating me.

I can understand your frustration. I have been looking through their application to see how fast they are moving files and it looks like they have slowed down quite a bit. They have been slowed on not only approving but also sending approved file to NVC. Almost everyone who got approved in August are still waiting for their files to be sent to NVC, which used to take them about 2 weeks or less. The only thing they are doing quicker is transfers and I have seen a lots of them. I am hoping you will get approved soon. I am also with you on waiting for the case to be sent to department of state. I have started to hate USCIS, they have no sense of prioritizing the cases or processing in the order. I feel like the only thing that matters to them is to make sure the numbers that get published makes policy makers happy, nothing else matters.

Could it be that they are not updating the app? Maybe call NVC and just ask if they have received it from Nebraska yet. I did see some people here whose cases were not updated on the app and they only knew they had been approved when they found the NOA2 in the mailbox.

Although I do agree that they are very clever at making sure they approve a bunch of cases at the 4-month mark every day to keep their average down. For every case they approve at 4 months they can approve one at 6 months and still keep the average of 5 months as per the website.

I think it's possible that they are not updating cases when they are sent, because I understand that they may be slowing down approval process or doing it randomly to hit their "Normal" processing times, but what I do not understand is them not sending any cases to NVC which were approved since August 1st.

Anyone here on VJ that was approved this month and their case has not been send to NVC?

JFH, I like your idea of following up with NVC. I will try to give them call today and see if they have received it.

He also indicated that the entire process right now with the backlog that they have is running about 8 to 10 months so I should hear something by December but I hope he was just telling me that

JFH, I like your idea of following up with NVC. I will try to give them call today and see if they have received it.

Interesting... I just looked at the VJ timelines for Nebraska filers. Not one person who received their NOA2 this month has reported that their case has been received by the NVC yet. Mine was sent two days after approval and was received at NVC 3 days later. So by the 19th of the month (as we are now) we would expect to see some August approvals reaching the NVC by now.

Now, not everyone updates their timeline as religiously as I do but there are some regular posters who have been approved this month, TheSmiths2016 for example, and you would expect regular posters to update their timelines. Especially for such a milestone as being sent to NVC.

So I just spoke to a tier 2 officer he has been the nicest I've spoken to since doing this entire process has advised me that the file is not just sitting on someone's desk it's actually going through the background check

So they are currently adjudicating? Won't be long then now. Background checks shouldn't take too long. Everything is on computers now so it's not like they are waiting for something in the mail.

It tools them about 1 month to approve after they told me that the file was going through Background Check. So depending on when they started your approval may be right around the corner

I agree. I think most regular poster would have posted the updates to their time line. From the receipt numbers that I ran, I haven't any case that was approved on or after August 1 sent to Department of State. I have a feeling that they may have stopped sending cases to get caught up and to transfer files. We may not be sent to NVC until Next month.

They said the same to me! But every time I called it was something new....

You have to wait one more month.

Call in 2 weeks.

We are working on January

Process is taking 6 to 8 months...etc

Just keep calling them! They will left this notes in the system so they will know that you are on top of this and also that you need some update at least to know what's is going on?. and if the Uscis web site said 5 months! Have to be 5 months. At the end I remember that I was so mad because that's why we paid the fees to them to work on those files!! I guess that's why 2 weeks after my constantly calls they approved my case! Stay strong and positive!

Yes that's true! I was approved in August 2 and I'm still waiting... I actually called NVC and they said that I have to wait ONE month.

Hopefully we don't have to wait that long and USCIS sends our cases sooner. I feel like waiting for them to send files after approval is even worse than waiting for approval
