If hand-writing it were really THAT Important as opposed to typing, the form and instructions would have stated that explicitly. This is just misinformation being spread that is causing unnecessary worry.

Well we also used a computer for that form so it will be interesting to see how many (if any) of us get RFEs. No offence, Frankjavir, but I have little confidence in attorneys and their hearsay.

I'm a native speaker of English so I'm well aware what "print" means. We have the same on legal and government forms here. There is no forensic reason behind it. You are permitted to have someone prepare the form for you (as I did for my husband due to his dyslexia).

Just saying, don't tell people they HAVE to do something particular on a form without having proof to back it up (preferably from your own personal experience or research, and the burden of proof is on you because you're instructing people in several threads that they MUST hand write in that block, and not type). You're spreading hearsay (and there's no evidence we can find of anyone having a problem typing instead of writing).

Here it goes again:

First of all I apologize to every one that felt panic because what I posted.

I have posted it before in other threads without incident.

I just honestly passed information I received from a church immigration workshop where an attorney elaborated on the legality and forensics when you are directed to hand write your name in block letters, he cited other examples like the closing papers on a house.

I posted it in good faith as a "pay back" to the VJ community for the knowledge and help I received since I became a member last September, I believe my posting record supports it.

We are all imperfect humans and make mistakes and rush to judgement, etc.

I can live with that, my faith keeps me very strong on these facts.

I believe what the lawyer said is true and made sense to me, reason why I did not verified any past RFEs in VJ.

After I was flamed by you guys, I verified that in deed there is no evidence of reported RFEs in VJ regarding this matter.

That is good news because that indicates the odds for this type of RFE are very low, but keep in mind that the VJ community is just a fraction of all applicants in USCIS, therefore we can not know for sure if it never happened before.

I'm a DCF filer so it may be different with LockBox. I sit and wait at the USCIS office as they go through my i-130. Since I filled most of mine in on a computer, I typed the name in the boxes. There wasn't any problem with that. Where I had a problem was in places that asked for example "If you are a lawful permanent resident alian, complete the following". Since I checked the Birth in the US box just above, I left that line blank. They wanted there to be something on every line, so I had to go back and put "N/A "or "none" in every line I left blank.

E&E - you aren't the only one working on the NVC portion. I've started myself, my 864 is almost complete, I just can't do the income portion because it will depend when I hit that stage. I am on probation at job as it's new promotion position. I could end up with a raise starting June.

Though I am lucky I am able to use the 864EZ form since I'm only sponsor for my husband.

Also ordered tax tanscripts for past three years as a precaution. Be over prepared on this I figured.
