Whats going on with Potomac February filers? According to Igor's List, they seemed to have been breezing through i-130's during april 2016, but have been crawling along ever since. Furthermore, the list of unnapproved Feb filers is the biggest, while they have begun approving March filers already. The wait is just unbearable, and its heartbreaking to see them skip over Feb and move on to march...

I'm getting antsy... Even Nebraska is approving February now and Potomac seems to be very very slow with February...

Everyone, let's update our signature to show our NOA1s and their filing office! Just to help us get a general view of our stats!

mines was sent feb 19th but my noa 1 is feb 25th riasa was the 25th as well and she is like 300 numbers infront of me and she got approved wat was your sam&ad i am happy for yewwwwwwwwwwwww but sad

It's not just the last four digits that count.

The Nebraska receipt numbers look like this

LIN1690410987 - that's just a random one I made up, not my own number.

Anyway, it means this:

LIN = Lincoln, NE - this shows the petition is with Nebraska and not Texas or California or Potomac.

16 = fiscal year. We are currently in fiscal year 2016 (it started on October 1, 2015 and runs through September 30, 2016. All petitions received during those two dates will have 16 as the first two digits.

9 = this is the only part I find conflicting info on. The best info I have seen is that 9 relates to family visas (and not employment or student visas). But that may just be a guess.

041 = the batch number. I like to think of this as a box number.

0987 = the individual case number within that batch.

So the case number I gave is a Nebraska 2016 fiscal year family visa petition in batch or box number 41 and was the 987th file to be added to that batch.

Although my real last four digits are very low (0032) it doesn't mean I was number 32 this year. Just number 32 in my box (which is 42). So someone with LIN169419543 is ahead of me because they are in the box before me.

Once your case on uscis.gov shows sent to department of state then 2 days after NVC should receive it. After they receive it it take about 2 weeks to assign a case numbr.
