Gusy, did anyone receive a snail mail for the i-130 approval?

We received email about approval on 2nd may (and update about case being sent to NVC on 5th may) but no snail mails yet.

Is this normal or should we contact USCIS / NVC?

What is a snail letter?? We just got approved on Friday the 13th so I know it will take couple weeks to get our case!

Hi! No, we just waited for the approval letter to arrive.

I got the email about 2+ weeks after I got the letter in the snail mail, not before.

Once you get your I-130 approved your case is transferred to the Immigrant Visa Unit and that takes a while :)

Thanks Marriene.

Sorry. Snail mail I referred to regular mail. I.e. not email

K3 are very rare these days and the applications are almost always administratively closed at the NVC stage. It didn't seem worth the effort to me.

As for why we didn't do a K-1.... Lots of reasons!

Yes in 2012 we decided to do a K-1 but changed our minds when we read all the guides and forums on here and realised I would not be able to work or travel for many months.

Then we decided to apply for a UK visa for my husband but he was denied and is permanently inadmissible.

Now we are doing the IR-1 and are waiting for USCIS approval.

stalker :protest::protest::protest::protest::devil:

thks guys its really stressful waiting my husband is so calm over the waiting and i am freaking out :crying:

how come you guys didnt do k3 instead???

Welcome aboard reshie.

You're not alone in the 'spouse-too-calm' situation. My wife is barely concerned about the time its taking for the process to complete :)

We've been in it since April of 2015 when we filed the first time but lost the paper work. And learned about the wasted time in Dec 2015. And wife flew back to NYC to file again in Feb 2016.

:( Oh well, all good things take time.
