We are in the same boat as you. We are PD 2/11/16 but no approval yet. Seems like we got stuck with one of their slower employees. It also sucks they will not even give updates until we pass the 6 months margin.

We are still waiting! PD Feb 11th Potomac Center!!! But there are so many February Potomac's approved wonder why ours is not, yet! (They forgot us!!)

2/10/16 - Mailed out package
2/11/16 - Picked up at 3:30 PM at Chicago Lockbox
2/23/16 - Received notification of acceptance via SMS at 4:40 PM

2/23/16 - NOA1

5/13/16 - NOA2

7/19/16 - Sent out NVC package

7/21/16 - Scan Date

8/19/16 - Case Complete

8/26/16 - Interview Scheduled *Oct 3rd @ Mumbai Consulate*

10/3/16 - Interview Completed *** VISA APPROVED! **

**Awaiting printed VISA**

There is no record of anyone getting an RFE for typing vs writing in that box. If you find someone who got an RFE for that, please let us all know.

All the best February 2016 Filers, I'm a February 2015 Filer, best advise is to be patient, make sure you send off all the documents to avoid RFE's, and during the NVC stage, they can send you a check

No, I know that. What I mean is they have (unfortunately) been given the backlog from Texas plus their own new cases. There are people there with NOA1 dates from July. So if ours has been sent there,

We are approved just got an email from USCIS that our I130 is approved!!!! :dancing: :joy:

NOA1 Feb 11th

NOA2 May 13th

What is next ??? Do they send a packet to us it will take longer then a week since we are in Bosnia. Should I have our joint sponsor start filling out I864 or will that be in the packet???

We just got approved as well. I did not receive any notifications, however when I went to check the status online it said our case is approved. Thank God for no RFEs and a quick process. For those who are still waiting, hang in there. Your time will come.

We just got approved as well. I did not receive any notifications, however when I went to check the status online it said our case is approved. Thank God for no RFEs and a quick process. For those who are still waiting, hang in there. Your time will come.

So I understand I have to wait for our case number we just got approved and that takes up to 15 days. After that I pick a agent can I be the agent? I am the filing petioner for my husband? Or should I pick someone else? After that I follow the steps and pay the fee and fill out all the forms required.

Gusy, did anyone receive a snail mail for the i-130 approval?

We received email about approval on 2nd may (and update about case being sent to NVC on 5th may) but no snail mails yet.

Is this normal or should we contact USCIS / NVC?

01/2016: Petition filed for my visa
02/2016: USCIS confirmed receiving our file/petition on 1st Feb.
04/2016: I-130 Approval email received from DHS towards early May, our case was approved end of April. 
03/2017: Paid AoS and IV Bill
03/2017: Sent AoS and IV Packages via mail.
04/2017: 5th day of April, NVC received package. Can take up to 11 weeks for CC according to nvc.

06/2017: 6th day of June, Case Completed - confirmed via phone

07/2017: Interviewed end of July 2017.

>> Passport with Visa received the next day of interview 

8/2017: POE via JFK


05/2020: N400 Filed

06/2021: Biometrics taken

02/2022: Interview Scheduled (Yes, after 22 months -.- )

They sent us a snail mail letter that we got approved 6 days after approval.

No other info.

The 17 days later we got an email from the immigrant unit with our case numbers and instructions about the AOS and a list of documents to gather.

2011 - Met hubby online and became friends
Early 2013 - Confessed our love for each other * Late 2013 - I got pregnant with our daughter
2014 - Our baby was born in Athens, Greece and completed our family. We now have two boys and a girl!! 2013 - 2015 - Looking for jobs in Greece, none were available (due to socioeconomic crisis) 2015 - Decided only way to feed our family was to immigrate and started the process December 2015 - Got married (Greece has a LOT of red tape for foreigners marrying Greeks)
January 2016 - Finished gathering all documents and getting them translated
* * DCF in Athens, Greece * *
28th January 2016 - Finally filed I-130s
29th June - ISSUED!!!!!!1st July - Visa packages and passports delivered to DHL.4th July - Visas in hand! CU in two weeks USA!!
19th July- POE Detroit. All went well!! (excluding our screaming, jet lagged toddler!!)

 

After Arrival in the US

September 2016 - Hubby is diagnosed with congestive heart failure
October - February 2016 - Battle with drug use, overdosing, bringing home a tiny paycheck

March - July 2017 - I am working 80 hr weeks to make ends meet. Discovered hubby's affair. Still overdoses and is hospitalized. Has quit working all together.
July - October 2017 - Marriage counseling. Revealed hubby has "several" mental conditions. Is started on several mental meds.

October 2017 - Got accepted for a college course. Got better job to help raise my kids.

October 2017 - March 2018 - Situation at home is toxic. He files for divorce.

July 2018 - Divorce is final. I have full custody of our daughter.

 

ROC (GC expires July 19th 2018)

July 16th - Package for ROC is delivered to the CA service center (divorce waiver).

August 30th - NOA1 received with 18 month extension (fee waiver approved).

March 28th 2019 - Biometrics

August 8th 2019 - Case Approved No RFE No Interview - 10 year GC in production

N400 (Online - Detroit, MI office)
June 6th 2023 - Applied for naturalization under 5 year rule.
June 7th 2023 - Application received/Biometric will be reused.
June 16th - Interview scheduled.
July 27th - Upcoming interview.



**Our DCF journey to an IV took 5 months and 1 day from turning in the I-130 to getting "Issued"**

Hi! No, we just waited for the approval letter to arrive.

I got the email about 2+ weeks after I got the letter in the snail mail, not before.

Once you get your I-130 approved your case is transferred to the Immigrant Visa Unit and that takes a while :)

A new week begins! Another step closer to approval for those of us still waiting.

My last look at Nebraska showed a January 19 file getting an RFE on May 13. So they have at least started to touch files from the second half of January.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!
