I like your optimism, but do not get ahead of yourself by sending I-864 to your joint sponsor yet.

The reason is that USCIS updates forms all the time and if you submit an outdated I-864 you will get an automatic checklist.

Your best time to send the I-864 form to your joint sponsor is when NVC gives you a case number and invoice ID number.

Question: What is your turnaround time estimate in sending and receiving mail between applicant or petitioner and joint sponsor and is the petitioner here in USA?

Sorry for answering so late.

I am not sure what the turnaround time is but my PD Feb 5th and our NOA1 was Feb 11th. I live abroad with my family and my joint sponsor is in the US.

Our NOA1 was on Feb 11th and still waiting.

I will be traveling to the US in June for work and will use the opportunity to get some things done to prove domocile.

I do not have any family in the states anymore and have been living abroad for 8 years but our friends would be willing to help. What do I need to get a DL in the States is it enough to get our friends to write a statement that I will be living with them. My expired DL is from a different state and we are moving to a other state.

You just started, it may be 5 months before you get approved by USCIS (NOA2).

Do not start any I-864 until you get a case number from NVC and always verify the latest version before you send the AOS package. You have ways to go.

Good luck.

How are we all doing?

I'm pleased to see so many December approvals coming in. We don't have long to wait now. I have even seen two Texas approvals from December already. Nebraska seems to be in the second half of December and Potomac has started February.

How many are still waiting?

So what are the chances that we will be approved soon since some Potomac Feb filers have been approved?

I am not sure what to do!! I got this opportunity to go to the US on work travel in June and would like to use the time to get my DL renewed and get a US bank account. But But I have to let my boss know of my plans of arriving in the US earlier before my work days, for vacation next week so they can arrange my ticket. But what if they approve us by June, since I was thinking to go get my DL in the state I was last in not in the state we itend to move. Since I can get there a address easier! Since in the state we are planning to move is right now hard to get residency. Is there a great chance of being approved if they started February and what if we get a REF.

I forgot who else in this thread is filling from Abroad like me.

Anyone got approved this month from Potomac Center? I am active duty military with orders home to US. Husband in Dominican Republic. I am hoping to get approved next month so I can finish his process and he fly back home with me. Let the military pay for it instead of me paying once I get back to States.

I am alright with waiting 5 months since I am living abroad with my family. We would like to move before September of this year so our daughter starts school, but we are ok if it does not happen. I have seen about 6 cases approved at Potomoc and they are Feb filers. So now I am not sure if that is a good sign or it will still take the full 6 months.

Like I mentioned in one of my posts I got this opportunity to travle to the US for work (my current work position in Bosnia). I also can get the opportunity to travel to the state I lived before moving to Bosnia and get my DL renewed and get a US account at a bank. But what I am now stuck at is I have to let my boss know this week of my travel plans in the US so they can buy the ticket. But if I get approved soon then I will want to travel to the State we are intending to move and try to set up some things. I know that I will not be able to get us a apartment since we still have a long ways to go till the interview. So not sure what I should do know. Use the opportunity to get any valid DL and bank account in any state and try to talk to a Elemantary school in the city we will be moving to for our daughter. I hope I am not confusing. I guess I should play it on the safe side and just go to the state we are intending to move and get this set up there in case we get approved before June.

I am not sure how it will look that I have a valid DL from a other state then the one we intend to move!!
