How is everybody doing??
Ever since we got the call on the 5th February that they are "about to approve our I-130" we have heard nothing else.
It has now been almost a whole month since we filed when it says on the website that it is less than a month for approval (I know our case is a little different as we are doing DCF in Athens Greece).
So I mailed them to make sure they got a small correction they requested on a divorce document and asked them if they want us to drop off a hard copy of it (they asked us to send it via email).
I got NO reply as to whether they received it or not or if they want a hard copy.
They just told me to wait to get paperwork. I told them we have an atrocious postman and if I can pay for a courier service, got no reply.

Otherwise we are paper ready, only missing medical.
Ugh... this is going to be a marathoooooon!!!!! (yes I know, I have been warned!!!)
we are going back on the 3rd for our daughter's passport (she is an American citizen). I wonder if I can drop off the divorce?

Good morning guys and gals.
No news from us. We haven't heard anything new from the Embassy , we haven't received anything either. This week will mark 1 month since filing. If we take into account the 1 week delay for the correction they requested, then it is 3 weeks.
I am HOPING we will get a hard copy confirmation in the mail this week but the Embassy has not exactly been forthright in disclosing information when I mail them.

We shall see..

Wishing everybody a great week with loads of progress!!!

Hey guys, this is my first time on Visa Journey. I filed I-130 for my spouse who currently resides in India. I sent the package out on Wednesday, Feb 10 and it was signed and picked up from the Chicago lockbox at 3:30 PM on Thursday, Feb 11. I see most people usually get their notification of acceptance and their check cashed usually within a week. I still have not received any notification and the check as not been cashed from my checking account. I know its probably too early to start panicking but I am just concerned. Given that Presidents day was the following Monday, I may experience some delay. Has anyone filed around my date? Anyone else experiencing the same or is it just me? I appreciate all the help.

2/10/16 - Mailed out package
2/11/16 - Picked up at 3:30 PM at Chicago Lockbox
2/23/16 - Received notification of acceptance via SMS at 4:40 PM

2/23/16 - NOA1

5/13/16 - NOA2

7/19/16 - Sent out NVC package

7/21/16 - Scan Date

8/19/16 - Case Complete

8/26/16 - Interview Scheduled *Oct 3rd @ Mumbai Consulate*

10/3/16 - Interview Completed *** VISA APPROVED! **

**Awaiting printed VISA**

based on responses from those who have filed to Chicago this month, it is unusual but do not panic yet since the whole process is awaiting game anyway and nothing is consistent with how the USCIS process these. Give it till end of this week then you may call the USCIS early next week.

Hello fellow February filers.

First, I want to thank everyone for their comments and clarifications. This website has been tremendously helpful in preparing the documents for a Form I-130.

I mailed the Form I-130 on Saturday, February 20th from a Chicago suburb. It arrived at the USCIS P.O. Box on Monday, February 22nd.

Hey everyone! I just got back from the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru doing DCF I-130 CR-1 Spouse Visa for my Peruvian husband. I got there an hour early, stayed about an hour, paid my fee and all set! I was told that I will be hearing back within 30 days for an approval. I said.. shouldn't it be more like 5 months? The lady said NOPE DCFs are much faster. The NVC part afterwards should take about 3 months but the I130 part only a month!

WOOHOO!

Good luck everyone!

02/23/2016: I-130 Submission DCF Lima, Peru

03/16/2016: NOA2 APPROVAL

06/28/2016: Interview at Embassy: APPROVED!!!

August 2016: Will enter the USA!
